I think after attending Burn's Suppers for the last 30 years and hearing the Bard of Ayrshire's work being spoken over all those years.  I know Burn's would be turning in his grave now.
I should tell you when we met he had a real Ayrshire accent.  ;D

Robert Burn's country is Ayrshire.

You should know by now that on CBF you need to watch your R's  ;)

Given that a) he died in 1796 and b) Ayrshire isn't a country, I don't think it's HIS anymore.

You'll be telling us next that this year it's his 256th birthday! No it ain't. He's dead.

No mistake with the R.   Ayr and Ayrshire are always described as Robert Burns Country.

Only by people who are obsessed with him, i.e. Scots.   ;)

Wrong KKOB  There are Burn's clubs throughout the world.  Including The States, England, Russia, Australia etc.,  I have, in the past, sold more Burn's related Scottish antiques to Foreign buyers than Scottish folk.
I also know that Burn's is somewhat of an obsession with a lot of foreign people who have great knowledge about him and his work.  Even had phone calls from places like America looking for Burn's items.

Sorry, I should have said Scots and other strange folk.  ;)

My uncle was a butcher in Ochiltree for 40 years or so he still works weekends there & lives in a cottage in the Main Street - nice wee village! In fact a couple from Ochiltree were on Wanted Down Under the other day!
