A few more pics for you lucky people (and Greedy Lotty). The first ones were taken on Thursday, which was a nice day until about two, when the clouds rocked over. They were taken on and around the Fethiye Promenade, at the Calis end.

The schools and colleges are on a fortnight's holiday at the moment, so there are a number of families and students around areas like the Fethiye prom or Cais Beach.

Looking out towards Calis and the island off Calis Beach, whose name I cannot recall at this moment.

These next couple were taken on the newly - and nearly - completed part of the prom at the Calis end. There still looks like work is to be done, like trees, gardening, bridges and perhaps some benches or seats. Not sure when this will be done or whether a budget for that sort of work/equipment has been allocated yet or not.

And finally these two pics were taken on Friday. These are part of the infamous Mafia Village, which can be found over the canal from the Hotel Pelin, by the main road bridges behind the Calis Beach area itself. I am sure others will be able to supply detail about how this come about, and why it was not completed etc.

Little Venice which I was told it was named was left as it stands now after the developer was alledgedly killed .It must be over 20 years ago and maybe the legalities are still not resolved.
Great pics UBT 8)

Thank you so much for the pics, they make me Calis sick!! Is it yet possible to walk all the way from Calis into Fethiye or do you still need to negotiate the main road for a while first?
-
Thanks UBT for the photo's. I can only get four on at a time, where am I going wrong.
Small offering from Kaya taken this morning on our walkabout
-
Don - great shots of Kaya.
Echogirl - I'm afraid you still need to take the main road for part of the Fethiye-Calis coastway walk.
-
Many thanks for sharing usedbustickets and DonM :)

Cheers guys for the pictures, DonM is that blossom in the tree in the 3rd picture?
-
Sorry for answering on Don's behalf but Spring is here in Fethiye, yes!
Lots of blossom on trees and wild flowers. Some of my sun daisies are flowering, if a little shyly and I can hear frogs (or toads, not sure) at night.
-
Gutted, clear blue skies today but still very cold, went and checked my bees and they are all active so touch wood they've survived the winter. Few snowdrops out in the wood and some catkins but that's it, spring seems a long way off.
-
Snowdrops out in the front garden, daffs 6" high. The geranium in the pot on the patio is still thriving, and there are signs of buds and blossom all over the place. Very cold here in Cambridge but the sun is shining and spring seems to be on the horizon, the Fens are always beautiful no matter what the season, but on clear crisp days like this the views are spectacular. Its so clear I can see Ely cathedral in the distance and the birdsong is almost deafening in the silence of the day.

First signs of spring here too - just checked the Wisteria but zilch there yet : :)
-
In the valley beside the almond blossom we have Anemones & Oxalis.
We also have a rabbit that thinks it's a guinea fowl :o :o, they are always together wandering around the village. I'm wondering if the guinea fowl roost in the trees at night like the chickens do.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. We are coming out on the 22nd Feb, they have made us even more excited. We have never been out there this time of year.

Bells
Don't forget the electric blanket. ;)
-
Thanks to all who have sent photos. It just proves that a picture is worth a thousand words. We in Blighty, I am sure, will wait in anticipation for the next instalment from all those :)who are lucky enough to live in such a lovely place.
-
It's cold and windy in Kaya this morning.
Kaya
Bagadag
Flooding in the valley
I've never seen the Kordan so quiet, no a soul about. We parked at the Mancero and walked to the Sultan for a coffee and we saw very few people braving the elements.
-
Tnks for the pics :D
-
We in Blighty know that it is not perfect where you are weatherwise, but at least winter is mostly better than here, not to mention the beautiful views that you have. Please keep the photos coming, it is a reminder to us poor souls in England, and indeed all who frequent this excellent forum what we are missing.
:)

Great photos Don thanks for sharing.
On a bright note yesterday we we saw house martins over the canel in Calis so warmer weather is definatley on its way, so its only a matter of time now.
We are a wet weekend but set fair for the next week after that.
Top Temps are upto 17 this week so not earth shattering but its going the right way.
