Ever wondered about the derivation of the names? Well wonder no more ;D
Whilst perusing a traditional Scottish gift shop in the wonderful Cairngorms I happened upon these coasters:

Never wondered, just like other folks who live in Scotland, we hear these words every day.
My confession now.... as I have lived in Scotland for so long now, I also use these words.

Ah "Scunner", a great word which can be a noun or a verb. If you are a scunner, you're a pest, a pain in the butt, (if the cap fits and all that!!!!) or equally, you can be scunnered, fed up, miserable ect. I use it regularly as my hubby can be a bit of a scunner and I am often scunnered! ;) ;)

My Granddaughter was totally scunnered today, watching Frozen again and complaining to me that she cannot build a snowman because there is no snow.
I told her that a friend of mine (Toky) had a lot of snow this week. She wanted to visit Toky.
However, we are going to see Frozen on ice next weekend, which will make her happy and not scunnered anymore.

Being a native, I have long understood the terms "scunner" and "crabbit". Indeed during a disastrous first meeting with the aforementioned "scunner" I left a t-shirt with the definition of the aforementioned "crabbit" on the front for the man himself.
I believe the aforementioned "crabbit" exchanged it for a small Efes.
But I have to confess that "scunner", on another thread, has introduced me to a term with which I am totally unfamiliar.
If anyone can explain the term "alcohol free" I would be very much obliged.
