Anyone going to the Jiva Beach Resort over the next few days should check with their holiday company as I've had confirmation it's not going to be open due to a major electrical fault.
My mate was due to go tomorrow and has been moved to Letoonia.
-
Your mate is going to love it at Letoonia.
-
Electrical?
They were still pouring concrete on Tuesday.
Ian
-
It's a new conductive concrete Ian ;)
-
We are due to stsy there on Tuesdsy night have they given any indication to your friends Stoop on when they may be open Thsnks very much for the heads up :(
-
We've never stayed at Jiva, only walked past, it looks ok, however, having stayed at Letoonia there is loads to do and we loved it there, quite secluded but easy to get by boat or taxi over to Fethiye & beyond, just enjoy x
-
Karrennina,
No indication I know of and they have set off now. Try TA or their FB page.
-
This might help

Think I'd rather stay here where they are up front and open about the service they can give than some other Hotels !!
-
By upfront you mean letting people know the day before they fly out?
Very upfront that is.
-
That may well be.. but they have still had the balls to put it online and make arrangements for alternative accom before departure. unlike others who ignore, delete etc etc etc
I have worked for a few Major tour operators worldwide and am not surprised at such short notice. When I was in Resort every week we had people arriving into resort overbooked or Accom not available who hadn't even been advised before Departure. Not acceptable I know but that's how high the respect for their 'Guests' is - treat them like Mushrooms and let the Poor Resort Manager take the flack.
I could write a book !!! ;D
Nb: Mushrooms. keep them in he Dark and pile Sh*te on them.

You are implying that you think Thomson have been involved in the deleting of posts when in fact they have nothing to do with the Sensatori FB pages. Sonia Calvert and another regular Sensatori user are the ones that run that page (and others).
You are also implying that they hotel will not be accepting guests today. If that is the case then I agree Thomson should have been honest and told guests. However - what I have seen on the Thomson pages is that they have consistantly said the hotel will be ready and open today. I'm sure anyone travelling to a hotel for it's opening will not expect everything to be 100% finished in every area of the complex (especially outside).
My guess is that the Sensatori Turkey site has become members only and those who are quite obviously not customers (me included) have been deleted.
-
FFS.. I am not implying anything !!!! Please do not start twisting things. I was merely talking about my experiences as is plainly obvious.
FYI.. Deletion as in a Tweet I sent to a Thomson employee at said hotel !!! But then I did mention that on here a few days ago.
I and I am sure everyone else does want it open on time and to not see peoples hard earned holidays ruined.
-

So what are you actually saying? Which hotels are you talking about?
-
Also you were blocked from the twitter account of a Thomson holiday rep! As was I an a few others. The picture also seems to have been removed.
Have you stopped to think she might have been told to delete the picture (or told in her contract not to post any in the public domain) or maybe just got pi$$ed off with strangers posting on her timeline?
That was not an official Thomson page at all.
-
I'm saying I'd rather stay in the hotel mentioned in this thread rather than other hotels. Happy now or would you like to do some more twisting ??
-
"That's on the Facebook Site Stoop - I've joined.. am brewing up something which will no doubt get me kicked off ;)
Quite a few people on the Facebook site have posted that they are flying out today or Sunday..and looking forward to it."
Sums up your agenda I think.
-
Stoop... do one.... I winked in that post as is plainly obvious.
Now if you will excuse me I have some shopping to do to bring out for people in Fethiye tomorrow.

Thsnks Stoop for the heads up on this, I have received an email today from Booking.com to say our reservation at a Jiva Beach has been cancelled due to the hotel not being ready to open!
Thry have offered us an alternative in Fethiye and said they will pay the difference on our return to the uk but it is not an all inclusive, I know it was only going to be a one night stsy so iv not had a holiday ruined or anything but it was booked for my birthday so I'm a tad disappointed, I made the booking seven months ago now...
Does anyone know how we stand with booking.com or jiva Beach as in they have to accommodate us at an alternative all inclusive or are they not legally bound...
Grateful for any info on this :)
-
So a wink makes everything ok? Must try that sometime when I decide to trash something
-
Good luck Karennina. Hope it works out for you.

Don't know if this is any help for your birthday, but Thomson hotels are doing all inclusive at the Belcekiz in Olu Deniz this week for £50 per night (per room not person), and you can stay till midnight on checkout day if you want. Hope you get sorted!
Try speaking to your credit card company (if you paid by credit card) as they may refund your money.
-
Karen, See if Booking.com will give you an exchange to Letoonia, think you would really enjoy a night there. Good luck, will keep my fingers crossed for you. :D :-*
-
Thsnk u Farry and Jacqui, because I had the heads up on here I was not suprised when the email arrived yesterday and was expecting to be offered the Letoonia the same as the other people who had booked Jiva Beach...
I'm still waiting to hear back from Booking.com I said in my reply email I would really like an all inclusive as thst was what our original booking was for, I booked it in September...just so long as they don't offer us the Remer funnily enough we walked past there the other day and Derek said I bet we end up there not Jiva I said no way I would rather stay in doors for the night then go there again! :(
-
We personally would not use Booking.com again. We went through them to book an Hotel we have stayed at before in Amsterdam, this was last December. When we arrived we were put in the most awful tiny room at the back of the Hotel opposite a brick wall. We went straight to reception and told them no way would we stay there. We were moved to a front room in the Hotel, we did pay extra, which was the price we would have been paying anyway booking directly with the Hotel.
Karen, I have heard and seen a video of the Hotel Unique in Fethiye which is quite a new place, you could ask if you could have a transfer there.

That is a brilliant offer at the Belcekiz Beach, for anyone who can get over next week on a cheap flight or for anyone out there now who fancy a weeks pampering with all your food and drink included,it's a steal at £420 for 2 people. Shame we have just come back, otherwise we would've had at least 2 nights there for £100. :-\

Seems it's now opening on the 8th but some are saying it's due to overbooking!
Strange happenings.
-
I have read on T.A. that someone is very aggrieved that their booking has been cancelled by Thomson's and they, Thomson's, have told the person who was due to arrive on the 11th May that the place will not be ready until the 28th May. However, this particular person is very cross as they have found the place is due to open on the 8th May. Apparently they have been told that Thomson's have high standards and they do not want their guests staying in a building site. The person has been offered, as they say, inferior substitutes.
-
Overbooked ;-)
-
Our original email said it would be opening on 8 th May but yesterdsy when I went on booking.com and put my date in it said there was no availability for that date and the last booking had been made from China 22 hours ago..iv a good mind to walk up there later and see what is occurring!
Thanks for the link to the Unique Jacqui it looks a lovely hotel...
We have now been offered the Majesty Tuana but I'm fed up with it all now and don't think I'm going to bother, probably just end up having a curry on the prom now! >:(

Sad affair and I really feel for those affected by this. However I had to chuckle at the Bing translation of this post. "I could puke in a huge blast'" conjures up some picture!
