Title: Saturday morning lie in...what could go wrong?
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on May 23, 2015, 08:28:45 AM
So, very peaceful and quiet  in our area of Calis at 8.03 in the morning, a gentle breeze coming from the windows of our bedroom and the birds singing outside.
Obvious, some local decided that his would be the best time to start practising his Wedding Drum for later on... How nice for the neighbours to listen to the same incessant banging over and over.
Now if we knew where  the drummer lived, we could go and advise a good place to put his drum, even help him put it there.   >:( :-X

It is a little like a flash mob in the U.K. firstly one musician, then after an hour or two, a second muscian and so on, so now we have the full orchestra  and a couple of singers for good measure.  The are giving it laldee just now.  We are going to go out to get a break from it.
Davy,
We don't get anyone practising the bagpipes in houses near  other ones, the Scottish musicians usually have a hall to rehearse in.

Yes Gordon, but I am using the Peterheid spelling.  Also, I don't need to worry about spelling Scottish words. I live in Scotland.  A place I choose to live and I love it there.  I am not sitting in England refusng to come back to Scotland because it is too cold, but then singing Scotland's praises to everyone who will listen and telling them what a great place it is and how nasty they are not to let me have the Yes/No vote from my home in the far south of England, from where I have no intention of moving......Just saying.     ;) ;D :-*    God's own country for you is England...  ;)

No, I am now naturalised Scottish.  I will let others worry about my spelling, it gives them something to do. ;D

I look forward to a Saturday lie in, especially as I am up at the crack of dawn more often than not during the week. Sadly the human body is cruel and I am wide awake at 7am on a Saturday morning. No drums necessary :(

Had a good night down at the prom last night,  drinks in Lee's meal in George's  Met A.O.K. and his lovely wife.... what a nice couple they are.
Few more drinks and some interesting conversation with a Turkish friend about the way men view women in Turkey and how some of the younger generation are changing these opinions.
Went to bed at 2.00am and wide awake at 6.30am.  No drummers either, just cannot sleep, was raining during the night, ground looks quite wet, but is clearing up now and getting sunny.
Strange when you want to sleep you get wakened up and when you can sleep you wake up anyway. :-[
