Title: Carer's for Disabled Elderly Man
Post by: panda.caebear on May 26, 2015, 12:31:13 PM
My Dad is thinking of coming over on holiday and is a single amputee, and has other ailments too! We are looking for a carer to help with getting him up in the mornings, to assist with showering application of creams and dressing and changing of catheter bags also helping him getting him ready for bed, as we live in a 2nd floor apartment my dad has to stay in a hotel in Calis.  Any information would be appreciated, Also Hotels with disabled facilities.
Regards   Karen

First of all I would say, it may be difficult for your Father to get travel insurance.  If he does, you should contact the Esnaf and see if they have staff who would help.
I would suggest that the sort of treatment your Father needs from a carer, would need the carer to be qualified and also have insurance to perform these duties.

As far as I am aware the sort of care your dad wants is only provided by private hospitals in Turkey and only if he an inpatient. Even in state hospitals relatives are expected to provide the majority of the the care your dad requires. is it not possible for you to stay in the hotel with your dad to provide the care required?

A new company has been formed and they provide all kinds of medical care at home or in hotels. The things you are mentioning shouldn't be a problem.
Company is called VIP and they have a small office in Calis, more or less opposite Babafirin.
