Title: Quick review of where we ate/ went in our recent two week stay
Post by: Steve A on May 27, 2015, 09:31:36 AM
Mozaik Bahce - Excellent food, surroundings, service etc can't fault it
Calis Beach Indian - A gem if you fancy a curry on holiday this is the best by far.
Mangals - Back on top form following a couple of dodgy seasons when Tanir worked elsewhere.
Gunisik - Love it,this is the place we visited most.Food, service and atmosphere great.
Meeting Point -staff great, looks great, food good but just misses the mark for me.
Casa Di Mama - Can't fault it,never had a bad meal.
Motto - Up market Turkish, great steak, great music and stylish laid back atmosphere.
Hamsi- Cheap and cheerful but great food
Aydin Pide -still a favourite, great food, huge portions the place to go for a relaxed ,hungry night.
M&R Pizza and Pide - Best pizza apart from Casa Di Mama, highly recommended.
Muzzys Place Kaya -Love the place for a drink but found the food greasy.
Istanbul Kaya - Spot on will return in September.
Beach House - very attentive staff, good food well worth a visit.
Selcuk Pansion Kaya - Great village breakfast
On the whole I still stand by the fact that I have never had a bad meal in the Fethiye region, standards remain high as does value for money.
I will not return to are Nil Bar,staff have become a bit arrogant/complacent with those they know.Concentrating on new custom and neglecting us older customers.

Where is Motto please Steve?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the various places you've tried.

Thanks Steve, some of those we've eaten in before, Mozaik, Meeting Point, Mangals (must like the M's  :D) and will be back again but we'll give some of those others a try too, need to get out of going to the same old places every time.

Motto is the first bar on the right over the bridge on Calis front, ie on the opposite corner to Eros

Don't you believe that " new " customers should be made to feel welcome then ?? You, and other " older " customers are NOT special you know !!  What happens when  you all expire, or can't afford foreign holidays any more ? Is Nil Bar expected to die , because the staff have been so busy keeping YOUR over-inflated ego alive , that prospective first -timers have been discouraged from EVER coming back to the restaurant ?? Get over yourself !!

What poppycock Gordy!

It's no different to the likes of the banks offering people £100 to switch to them - like my bank at the moment. What do the people who have been with them for 20+ years get? Bugger all!

Take your bread and butter business for granted at your peril - bank, restaurant or anywhere else.

All customers are to be valued, regulars (old) and new... It isn't good business sense to become complacent or take anyone for granted.

It's understandable when very busy that new customers may need more attention and help finding their way around the menu, have more questions to ask etc so may need more time but it doesn't take much to ensure those that have been before feel as valued and welcome too.

We like the Meeting Point and it is always good as far as we are concerned.  Good food, excellent friendly and attentive staff and great value for money.

Wrong time of the month for Gordon, what an over reaction !
The Meeting Point is nice, the surroundings have improved, the staff and service are good but the food is not as good as Gunisik

Strange that Meeting Point has been No.1 and No.2 respectively over the years, in the restaurant vote on this Forum.  However, a lot of people, like me ,may not have tried Frank Cannon's place yet.
I never liked the look of it.  it always has the look of a fast food place...my opinion only  :D

Had a couple of bad meals among other issues in Meeting point so havent eaten there for a couple of years.

We had exactly the same view as you Jacqui, alwaays saw Gunisik as a fast food place, open til late & only used it for lunch time snacks as my family say the best kebabs are from there.  I don't know what made them try Gunisik for evening meal but it is now a firm favourite as the food is very good value and delicious and service is always very very good.   Me & my mum ate there last night and for two portions of garlic bread, 1 veg curry (chips & salad), 1 chicken curry (chips & salad), 3 cokes and a gin and tonic was 50tl..

As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover...

Seems a lot of us CBF people where out and about last night... We need a picture D.D. so we can recognise you. Also if your O.H. works in a local place, perhaps we already know him...
Will have to give this place a try   :)

Yes, people say that about me too     ;) ;D

A simple but effective formula that escapes some eating places. But as well as that it's CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY AND CONSISTENCY.

Nichola and Dogan have got the above down to a fine art.
