Recently, members of the 3C’s charity visited a Rehabilitation Centre in Fethiye. You may have read about that visit under the thread “One happy young boy”.
If you have not read it may I recommend it as a heart-warming post.
Whilst at the centre members of the Committee were introduced to a lovely young girl who is mentally and physically disabled. She attends the centre twice a week and up until recently she could only lie down and had to be strapped as her arms and legs flail about. The centre now have her sitting up which is a great step forwards. The next step is for her to be able to get about and interact with her surroundings but to do this she needs a wheelchair.
This wheelchair will have to be a special one with head restraint and limb restraints which can be adapted for her needs and therefore will be expensive.
After consultation, the Committee have agreed to purchase the wheelchair.
This is what the 3C’s Charity do on a regular and, hopefully, ongoing basis. They make a difference.
I know that lots and lots of people on CBF support the Promises Auction, but if you haven’t in the past, please consider doing so in 2015. It’s the Charities’ major fund raiser and the money raised will go to help people like the young lady who needs the wheelchair.
She won’t have asked for your help, she will not know who you are and you will almost certainly never meet her.
But on your next visit, when you’re sitting in your favourite haunt with a cool Efes in your hand, you will be able to lie back and say “Hey - it may not have been a lot, but I helped make a difference.”
Thanks

My sincere apologies pi55y I complete forgot to mention the following things that the charity are/have been involved in:
Providing Play Equipment for Pasali School.
The Love Homes Initiative.
Providing air con units to Silkar Middle School.
Providing 15 Univesity bursaries.
The Hearing Aid and Implant Project.
The English Learning School
Fethiye Special School
Etc., Etc., Etc..
That's why the success of the Auction is so important.
Don't forget folks the Auction starts at 7.00 but you can pick up your bidding card from 5.00 onwards
If anyone thinks that this is a blatant "bump" to get the Auction up the list of threads, you would be totally correct :)
