Just to let everyone know that "Rod Stewart" is back in town and is definitely singing at Lees Bar tomorrow night Friday 5 June, to raise money for the 3C's. As you may be aware last week Lee had to cancel the gig due to threatened storms
We are extremely grateful that Stuart (Rod) and Lee are supporting our charity and we know it will be a great night - it always is as he is a such a great singer and Lee and Miska are great hosts.
During the night we will be holding a raffle and passing the bucket around to raise money for the children.
As tables cannot be booked, better make sure you get there early if you want a seat as he packs the house out.
-
Good news, looking forward to seeing him. Should we take our sleeping bags and tent down there now to make sure of a seat?? :) ;) ;D :o
-
was supposed to be there last week Chrissie but oh well had to come home Monday past, hope ypou all have a good night, Stuart and Linda are a great couple, had a few laughs over the past two weeks.
-
Rod Stewart AKA Stuart McDonald, had them singing & dancing in the aisles & on the prom tonight. A brilliant night was had by all. 3C's held a raffle, which raised IRO 700tl, & had a collecting bucket, which will be opened & counted towards the end of the week.
A huge thank you to Rod for a very entertaining night & to Lee & Michka & their hard working staff for providing a wonderful venue.
-
Fantastic stuff from Stuart and Lee and Michka.
Hopefully we will have the opportunity of enjoying a "Rod" night on our next visit.
-
Brilliant end to stressful week for you all.. sorry we missed him. X
-
It was brilliant. He plays the part soooooo well. The crowd was welcoming, responsive and hopefully generous. If like us you've not seen him, don't miss his show next time.
-
Poor old Rod, Toky would not put him down :)
Great night, like Toky and Robin we had not seen Rod before, fabulous act, looked and sounded just like him and the crowds outside the bar dancing and singing were amazing.

Could only stay for an hour but really enjoyed the show. Well done Rod. Great to see Nevra helping out and strutting her stuff.
-
WOW, Dizzy Jan & I have just finished counting the money in the bucket, with the raffle a magnificent total of 1854.60tl was raised on the night.
Many thanks to all who contributed, as this represents approx 1/3 the cost of another deaf child getting to hear 8)
-
OMG that's a graat amount. Sheila did a great job of shaking her bucket as she danced along. X x
-
You did not do a bad job of shaking your bucket either Toky :)
Very well done to the 3C's and of course, Rod. A wonderful amount raised.
-
Fabulous amount !!!!!!!!!!! and very well done Stuart. :)
Sorry to bang on but what a "tragedy" it will be if the 3C's are not in a position to help other children get to hear in the future. :(

PS Just re-read this post and I realised that I am not sorry to bang on :)

Fabulous night and well done to all the people involved 3 C's, Lee / Micha and all their helpers and to ROD himself . Pity about the odd one our two at the back who wanted to watch the show but who could not find ANY change to put in the bucket.
-
I cannot understand people doing that Robin... I think it would be good if the 3c" charged ticket price to get in and sit down. Also, I would not mind paying to reserve a table. (or the Royal Box, before someone suggests it) Wish I had seen the meanies who did not put their hands in their pockets.... makes me so mad.
-
Well done once again 3 C's
We were pleased to meet Liz 101, Dizzy Jan and Toky (VO5) and Rob for the first time.
Sorry Jacqui couldn't get passed the security to meet you
-
I will talk to my people and make sure they let you through next time :)
-
We too stood and watched some people stand and enjoy the show and change places several times to avoid the collection.Shame on you.I just wonder if the adjacent bars give something towards the collection because they were all packed and must have made a lot of money that they would not have made normally. On the subject of charity, my wife and her friend were in the 3cs charity shop at the Enya when they watched 2 Russians shoplifting. They told the people in charge and they made them pay for the goods they had in their bags .If they can come to Calis from Russia on holiday surely they can afford to pay charity shop prices.I ask you .How low can people get?
-
Was that Friday? If so, they were Turkish, not Russian.
-
Yes it was Friday and we were told they were Russian
-
Definitely Turkish as I spoke to the younger lady in Turkish and told her about the items in the older lady's bag.
I'm still hoping that it wasn't deliberate as the old lady was very confused. But who knows, it happens quite regularly sadly.
-
Very sad that this happens in a Charity Shop, particularly as you are all there to help local children. I know it happens in the U.K. too in my local Cancer Research shop and the ladies there, who are mostly elderly are told not to try and stop anyone shoplifting, just in case the ladies are hurt.
Do you think a dummy camera in the shop would help? I would be willing to bring one in for you.
-
Thanks for the offer Jacky but we do actually have three in the shop. I brought them back from England last year.
