Been using XBMC for a good number of years - have it on my phone & tablet plus a box attached to TV.  Sorry Mr Murdoch, yer getting bugger all from me to watch the football!

I think these are completely different things?
Zen mate is a type of vpn as far as I know.
Kodi is part of our tv android box system and gives us access to hundreds of films and TV shows.
We're really pleased with it.

KK is right two different things.  Kodi/XBMC is fantastic, if you have enough broadband bandwidth where you are.  You can load it on your laptop and use it, but if you are going to buy an (android) box (circa £65-105) with Kodi pre-loaded with a number of different add-ons, be careful which supplier you get it from, some are poor in terms of understanding of the product, support given, and in some cases difficult front ends to navigate around.

Zen mate is a (now paid for) VPN service, personally I prefer and use Overplay for this type of service.  Incidentally, for the overwhelming number of add-ons and services on the XBMC/Kodi service, you do not need a VPN.  Only required for your usual BBC, ITV and Channel 4 players, but there are generally alternatives to accessing the Iplayer etc. programmes on XBMC Kodi.
