Could anyone tell me the current exchange rate in calis?
-
We got 4.7 in Fethiye today, I am sure Calis will be about the same.
-
You sure that wasn't 4.07?

Sorry, missed the "O" but who cares, it is so cheap over here now. I stopped counting. Even the booze in the supermarkets is looking reasonable now. 108 TL for a bottle of J.D.

when we were there last week many locals were saying they expect it keep rising this week and they expect it to drop again after the elections next week. will have to wait and see.

Apparently, the day of the election the outlets in the area will not be allowed to sell alcohol. The lady in the Pork Shop told us that it wlll only affect Turkish people and only until night time. Us foreigners will be fine?? Not quite sure what she meant about that?
-
Correct, its illegal for alcohol to be sold on election day during the polling hours. As for it only affecting Turkish people not too sure- the supermarkets all close off their alcohol sections irregardless of whether you are foreign or turkish. You may however have some luck in smaller supermarkets/corner shops. Last year we had a BBQ on election day and OH went out to get some more alcohol (we forgot it was election day and tp stock up :P) and came back pretty quickly with more beers/wine.

Yes we have seen people drinking alcohol, out of coffee mugs in one bar, on voting day,
