I have to say I really enjoyed this wine on our holiday, in the olden days I always thought it had a 'twang' and so never bothered with it, but we had it in one of the restaurants this time as they didn't have Angora and it has certainly improved over the years. They serve it on TA flights too and though they offered an alternative French wine, I went for Cankaya. I agree the usual supermarkets should have it. ;D

I really think that Turkish wine is getting better.   Either that or with age (me)  I can drink anything and enjoy it   :)

We did buy some non Turkish wine this time.  We found the prices in Kipa for French, Spanish etc., seemed a lot better with the Lira being at 4TL.

That's good if you are changing sterling at the 4TL rate.  If you changed it at 3TL, it is more expensive especially for the expats

I must be missing something here.  Why are you changing at 3 TL ??

because I live here and do not change UK money as my cash is here.  When I changed my cash it was more like 2.75.

Cankaya is my favourite white Turkish wine. The same company Kavaklidere also have a red wine Yakut which is very nice.I saw a litre bottle of Cankaya in a shop on Calis main street for 30 lira just before we came home. Cant remember the exact shop.
