Title: average cost of meals in calis beach
Post by: debjin on June 28, 2015, 19:28:03 PM
Hello all. Deb and Jinan here. We have visited Calis Beach three times in the past. We were wondering what the range of meal costs are at the moment in Calis Beach in LIRE?
We understand that inflation is fairly high.
As an aside, we had heard it may be beneficial to take euros to exchange into lire, rather than sterling. Does this have any factual basis?
Cheers

Meal cost in my opinion are still low in Calis.Depending on where you eat a meal for 2 will cost any where from 30 lira to 150+ lira excluding drinks.I would bring £ and exchange it out here for TL.  :)

So you think that changing Sterling into Euros and then bring them to Calis and changing our Euros to Lira would be better??   Why ??
Bring Sterling change to Lira.  Also with the Lira being at around 4TL eating out seems pretty cheap to us.

We got back a few days ago after two weeks in Calis and found eating out pretty cheap when converting lira to pounds.  The exchange rate is so good at the moment nothing seems expensive!  Obviously it depends how many courses you have and where and what you eat but we often only paid between 110/150 lira for two courses including drinks for both of us for an evening meal.

Don't know about bringing euros to change, we've never done that and can't see the benefit.  Would still bring sterling and change it in Calis/Fethiye.

Yes the pound is doing well against the lira,it has gone up to 4.2 today
And I think the euro not doing to well, because of the Greek situation,

Thank you for your replies. We have always brought sterling, but my brother in law (works in finance) had heard it was advantageous.  Anyway ,thanks k you for your help.
