Just a quick reminder that " Rod Stewart" will be performing at Lees Bar tonight on Calis promenade to raise money for the 3Cs. This will be Rod's last performance before going back to the UK. If you have not seen him yet you dont know what you have been missing. He is great!!!!
-
He is indeed.
Hope you have another successful night. :)
-
Well gutted again, we miss him yet again! Saw the real Rod a couple of years ago and was fantastic, so would love to see this show, maybe another year. Hope you all have a great night
Markar

Sorry you will miss him Markar. I have seen the real Rod twice over the years and in my opinion our Rod (Stuart) is just as good
-
I won't disagree with you. :)
-
Have a great night Chrissie, hope you raise loads of money and the roof.

I had thought of using this picture as a Caption Competition but it would have been to easy :)

I met the real Rod when I was on Richard & Judy, a real nice guy xxx

Well it certainly was the night, we had a fantastic two and a half hours of pure entertainment, unashamedly I knew and sang all the words with Jan and had a ball with everyone that were there, everyone was dancing and the place was packed, I hope everyone gave generously because you would have paid good money to see this, Rod had the stage in his hand which seemed to be the bar the prom and the bar next door , posing for pictures, he worked it brilliantly, he's got a big voice and an even bigger heart.

Brilliant, Brilliant , Brilliant night! It had to be the best yet and many people said it was the best night ever that they had ever had on Calis Prom. Rod sang his socks off - just don't know where he gets all his energy from and the prom was blocked with people dancing! Our raffle made 1100 TL and the collecting bucket is heavy and has loads of folding money so will let you know what the total is after it is counted on Monday.
A huge, huge thanks to Rod and his wife Linda, whose birthday it was last night and a huge huge thanks also to Lee and Miska for being the perfect hosts and also the hard working bar staff.
At the start of the evening 3C's Chairman Peter presented Rod and Lee with framed certificates of thanks and Linda and Miska received bouquets of flowers (pictures to follow).
Rod's wish is that his three performances may have raised enough to fund a hearing implant for a deaf youngster - I think we can certainly say that he has achieved this. Thank you Rod and Linda, safe journey home and see you later in the year.
-
It was truly a special night and although Rod is always good, last night he was just brilliant. Great to see everyone enjoying themselves so much. Well done Rod, you're a star.
-
Wonderful photo of two really lovely men...
-
One of my neighbours said that it was probably the best night out he'd had in 12 years of coming to Calis, which is a fair compliment from someone, who until earlier in the day, wasn't fussed about going at all ???

Seems a good time was had by all.Hopefully I will get to see him when he returns 8)

Well the bucket was counted today and there was a record 1316 TL so we raised a magnificent 2,416 TL on the night. This means that Rod has achieved his wish and has raised 6,000 TL over the 3 nights - enough to pay for a hearing implant for a profoundly deaf youngster. Thank you Rod you are a star in all ways. Also thanks to everyone who supported the three evenings at Lees.
-
Another fabulous result.
Huge respect and admiration for Stuart MacDonald. You have made a difference sir :).
-
Very well done and a big thanks to "Rod" and his wife. We really enjoyed seeing them in June and look forward to seeing them again in September.
On a totally different note, Rod and his wife look very alike. This could be a new thread, do you and your partner look like each other ?
-
God I hope not !!!!!! :o :o :o

God forbid, although we are both blondes! I would rather look like my dog, but as I have not had one since my rough collies about 35 years ago, perhaps I look like my cat, who is a "big black boy". As I am neither big, black or a boy, I think not! :D
