Title: Auction Results
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on July 10, 2015, 10:16:57 AM
So pleased to hear from Chrissie this morning that I was successful with three of my four bids.  Hurray.
Looking forward to our three meals in September.   Thanks to the 3C's for all their hard work and hope the Auction was a great night and the 3C's made lots of money. ;D

Quite right Keith. Thank you everyone who submitted bids, congratulations to the winning bidders and sorry to those who just missed out.

The people who will definitely not miss out are the children.  Last night we raised 9,646 TL so across the two auctions we raised just over 20,000 TL

On top of that Cinan and Prince Murat Askin and their oily friends  strolled acround Calis prom and main street during the evening in  nothing but their  leather breeches  and a 1 ltr of oil (  ;)),  performing some slippery wrestling moves,  and raised a further 1,003 TL for the children!   A brilliant result.

Thank you everyone who supported the event, either by donating or bidding on promises, thanks to the Bambu and Nil bars for allowing us to use their premises, and a huge thanks to auctioneer Karaokemark who did a brilliant job and our great team of volunteers and committee members who worked hard throughout the evening.

Great result don't be to sad Sunlover.  I have been to thousands of Auctions and lost out of bids, but I always thought and think, there will be another Auction and another day when I will win.
I lost out on one bid too, by 10TL, but I am happy I raised the bidding up with my commission bid, so the 3C's got a bit more money.

Another fabulous result. Take bow all those who put a massive amount of work to ensure that children will benefit.

Well done also to Cinan and Prince Murat Askin and their friends.

I always knew that Murat was a slippery customer.  :)

Very true as said by all maybe my bids raised the bar a little more, next time i will try harder to book my holiday around the auction, as only missed out by a very few lira,s and if was there i would have pushed a bit more for them.

Great result for the total amount though.

Sun lover, is it possible to leave an "open" bid, if such a thing exists, so that you can top any other bid on the night? Just a thought.   :)

An open bid does not exist.  It means no limit and the bidding could go way higher than the person wants to bid and that could mean trouble for the Auction.  No Auction would accept a no limits bid.
Always best, if you really want something to decide on a bid and then just up it a little.  Also, a professional tip, don't leave a round sum bid.
