Title: Karaot beach
Post by: Susiepink on July 26, 2015, 08:05:24 AM
We had a drive down to the Karaot beach yesterday for a change, there wasn't many people about, we plonked ourselves down on a sunbed and when the young guy came over we ordered a couple of fresh orange juices. A couple of hours later, still almost deserted we wandered up to the bar and ordered a couple of cheese toasts from a very limited menu. When they arrived they were like a 3 inch square of corrugated cardboard, which at 8tl each was a total rip off. They were inedible, so we drank our beer and went back to the sunbed for another couple of hours. We were hungry so we bought an ice cream and settled our bill, and to our surprise they had charged us 10tl for the sunbeds. We complained about the charge for the sunbeds and the quality and price of the toasties, they pointed out that the umbrellas were free! No wonder the beach was deserted, such a shame because it's a beautiful spot, there was a lovely breeze, and it was actually nice, clean and sandy. We won't do it again, next time we will take our own food and drink, will they never learn?

10tl per day for the use of a sun bed, and you're complaining!  :-[

Yes I am, considering we were purchasing drinks and lunch from their bar. Beds are free at most places if you buy a drink, all along the run of beach cafes in Çalış, from Aroma all the way along to Mekans, that is the norm

Turn down the road at the Yaniklar bridge, you need to be on the right of the river, and follow the twisty road all the way down to the beach, it's about 3 miles, you could also walk along track by the river, takes about twenty minutes
