Yet again for the second time this year Eayjet have cancelled our outgoing flight, they have said we can change our flight at no extra cost but this was the only time we could gte off at our work places!! Does anyone know if we can wait and change the flight we had to one next year when they release them? They usually release them for May the following year in Septmeber the year before, our flight was due to go out on 9th October so i think we will be in time to do it if we can. I have e mailed easyjet asking this but they take up to 10 days to reply!! And i know if someone has the answer on here i wont wait 10 days.

Oh Carole, what a shame. Has it got anything to do with the bombing do you think? People are panicking about it, I know of some who have cancelled their visit in September. :)

Hi Sunlover
I have sent you a PM with a contact email address
-
On the easyjet website there is a section which explains your rights when a flight is cancelled, but there is also a number to ring for help. It's 0330 365 5000
I would give it a try to see if you can get anywhere with them.
Good luck

If the situation in Turkey doesn't stabilise then I suspect this wont be the first flight cancellation. Spoken to a few folks in the UK recently about what's going on, and the general consensus is that none of them would book a holiday in Turkey right now.
It doesn't matter how far away from the Syrian border you say the south west resorts are, all people think about is the dramatic images on the news and in newspapers. All it'll take is a couple of "publicised" incidents and we'll see bookings being cancelled and the anti Turkey tabloids having a field day.

One can totally understand of being nervous of venturing to Turkey. I booked flights some time back for end of August for 3 weeks but in all honesty we are feeling uncomfortable with the situation and I wonder how I will feel as time approaches. :-\

You do what makes you feel comfortable.
Three girls I know have just (5mins ago) reluctantly cancelled an August bank holiday weekend in Istanbul and are now going to either Venice or Barcelona. It was down to pressure from their respective other halfs, one of who just sent me a relieved SMS.
Not sure if the relief was that they were going to be safer in Spain/Italy, or that their credit card wasn't going to take a hammering in the bazaars and posh shops in Nisantasi.

Thats a great shame, not only the flight cancellation, we are coming out and return on easyjet, but the fact that people are staying away. I read an article in the press recently that reckoned the next target of ISIS would be the spanish costa's where they could do maximum damage. The safest place is at home in bed !!

I have no idea sadler if it has anything to do with the bombings, and it wont stop us going Turkey. Thx Madmart have got your e mail, i dont think i need to bother the CEO yet, if i dont get where i want then it might be a different story though, so thx for it.

Suspect it's not directly related to the bombing last week, but just a general downturn in folks heading to the south west of Turkey. Unlike the charters, who often amalgamate flights if numbers are low, Easyjet and Ryanair tend to simply cancel them.

Spain are on the same severe alert as Turkey and a few other countries, along with the UK, so take your pick, if something is going to happen it could literally be anywhere.

If you are going to phone this number Sunlover be prepared for up to three hour wait. Having a phone with a loudspeaker option helped my sanity - what is left of it.

As terrible as the events are , we have to realise that it could happen anywhere, as the past has. shown us . London Madrid Paris New York Sadly in the awful world we live in no where is guaranteed safe. How many people have been to the above cities ??? Bet lots of us have . I for one will be returning in September can't wait !!!!!!!!!
-
We feel safer in Turkey than here at home but obviously would respect others views, terrorists can and do attack anywhere. On the cancelled flight why don't you tweet to easyjet it's public so they usually reply quickly.
-
Finally heard from Easyjet yesterday, we can wait for flight released for next May, which will be sometime September and can book for then, so thats actually in our favour, as will cost us nothing to change flights and certainly will be a more expensive time. But there fault they canx flights, and i am sure they make enough profit to cover these sort of events happening.

Pleased you are happy with the outcome, Sunlover. :)

We have just come back from holiday on a cruise and lots of people we spoke too said they had been to Turkey and liked it, but the only complaint was about the costs to get to Turkey v Spain etc., Spoke to one couple from Manchester who had not been to Turkey for over 10 years but were coming out to Kalkan for a wedding in September and will be having a two week holiday there. They were really looking forward to it. They never even mentioned terrorism.

I hope EJ don't cancel our flight home to Dalaman on 8th October, that'll cause me a problem as well :(

Just had a week in Sanliurfa (18 km from Syrian border). it was terriffic. Loved the area. Mrs C scandalised the locals with her dress sense and drinking. The chap we met last year said that all was quiet as far as the ISIS were concerned but there were crossings as normal with Syria. No trouble. Whats the panic? We're Brits.

Connor,
Whats that post got to do with esayjet canx our flight, it seems the topic has gone a drift!!
-
That's CBF for you all the posts go adrift, but once the subject is exhausted it is easy to go off on another thread. That is what makes CBF more interesting and not boring like some websites.

I'm quite interested in Connors trip to Şanlırfa which I thought a relevant comment considering many of the posts on the first and second pages of this topic were related to the possibility of more flights being cancelled and the reasons why this might be the case and a broader discussion that included what's happening in Turkey.
Perhaps Conner you could set up a new topic with photos if you have any as I am sure that a lot of people would also be interested in your trip and what that part of Turkey is like. By the way can you still not buy alcohol with your meals in most places and did you also go to Harren?

Thanks Madmart for e mail address for CEO of Easyjet.
I have e mailed her today as we were told by a facebook private message we could change our flight to may next year when they are released in september, yet, yesterday we got a email saying that our flight change must be within 30 days of cancelled flight, we have already booked new flights as were told we could do this.
I am fuming with them, giving us different answers, so have e mailed the CEO to get an answer to this.
I am going to stand my ground on this one!!
