Title: The High Price of Saving a Fiver
Post by: Scunner on August 27, 2015, 20:01:11 PM
Argos have their £5 voucher for a £50 spend/£10 voucher for a £100 spend promotion on again. The timing couldn't be better for me. I have reserved something at a cost of £44.99 anyway, so all I have to do is find something for £5.01 or more and I'l get a free £5 voucher to spend in Argos in the next 4 weeks!

I have since worked out what this means.

I need to spend £5.01 on something I simply do not need, to earn a free £5 voucher to spend on something else I don't need.

But when you spend your £5voucher you will no doubt spend a lot more than a fiver on something you dont need.

Lots of places seem to do this.  I get emails saying get free postage if you spend over £20.00.  but everythng on sale is £4.99.  So you always spend nearer £25.00 to get your free postage.
However, with companies like M.&.S. you have to spend £50.00 for free postage, but returns are free.  So, I suspect a lot of people order over £50.00's worth of goods to get the free postage and then send some items back.  This has it's problems too, because once you have the items you just might decide to keep them all, which, I suppose is what M.&.S. want you to do.
