Hello Everybody, We are Di and Barry and have just bought an off plan property in Calis which will be ready in June 2006.
At present we are buying the property as a holiday home but hope to move out 'full time' when we officially retire.
We live in Chingford in East London and have been to Calis about 8 times and love it to bits.
That's us in a nutshell but as we are very, very new we will be asking an awful lot of questions.
If anyone can suggest 1. Where to get a good rate / value fixed term mortgage in the UK for buying a property in Turkey and 2. A safe / efficient and cheap way to electronically transfer the building 'stage' payments - we would be most grateful.

Welcome Di and Barry. I'm sure you'll find help with both those questions here. Use the search engine on the site and you'll be suprised how much you'll find out. Not sure about mortgages but I know theres loads on money transfers

Hi Di and Barry, if you go to moneysavingexpert.com and then go to the mortgages forum you will find lots of info on mortgages. Also on the main site there are articles to read first.

Try: http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/ for comparing mortgages/remortgages

Nat West charge £18 for a standard transfer but you will need to check what it will cost you at the other end.

hi di and barry congratulations on your property purchase we have bought an apt in gunlukbasi in june. we still think of chingford as essex and remember the times when we used to go the royal forest hotel amongst other pubs.we live near braintree now for the last 30 years. look foreward to meeting you both in the future regards badger
