Does anyone know anything about accident on motorway yesterday ? Involving a bee transporter? We had friends coming home after us but not heard from them ?
-
This one ?

Apparently someone was quoted as saying "Hive been stung!"
There's no motorway between Calis and the airport so I'd assume it's probably further north.

From the BBC Report linked above:
"The accident happened on a motorway in the province of Mugla and 18 people were stung in the aftermath".
I'm not even sure where my aftermath is but it does sound painful
-
The aftermath "was approx 15km from Mugla near the top of a very long and very steep hill" according to someone on Facebook who saw it when he was on his way from Fethiye to Bodrum.

On a serious note, one beehive fell off a truck last week in the middle of the Ovacik main road and it was horrible. The bees were everywhere and attacking people.
Fortunately our doors were closed when it happened and we were able to use it as a shelter. Several people ran inside and I had to call an ambulance for a young couple of which the man got stung 18 times and he started swelling up.
It felt like being in a bad sci fi movie and that was only from one beehive. I don't want to think about a whole truck!
