Title: Are There Still Hotels That Welcome non-Residents to use their Pool?
Post by: Scunner on September 19, 2015, 18:13:55 PM
Obviously if they use the bar/snack bar etc. It always used to be that you were very welcome to do this but I wondered if it is still? Any recommendations for really welcoming ones?

I recall that slide Steve, I don't think it would be there for me after the first go :D

I seem to remember that after a change of ownership, some CBF members (who were previous regulars) were actually told to leave as they were not resident?

Yes they do, although I did hear of one recently that said yes no problem to a friend who explained a few people would be coming over on holiday and would be going for a swim and lunch

They said it would be fine  to swim for just 20tl each person!!!
Needless to say they didn't go, but can't remember the hotel name and it's going to bug me now!

Ata Park and Daffodil in Karagözler.  No charges other than what you spend at the bar.

Ata Park do snacks etc, Daffodil is a bit limited in that respect outside of lunchtime.

Both have great WiFi  ;)

Carretta Apart are always welcoming to non-residents although I do recall them asking someone to leave since they had brought their own lunch. Fair enough I am sure you would agree?

The old Alperin is very welcoming. Nice pool. Cheapest Efes Malt (6) and nice owners.

Struggling to remember the new name though :(

I remember - Baskent.

Over the years, we have used Mutlu Hotel, Anna Apart Hotel, Club E, and Dost Hotel. I would never dream of taking in my own food or drink, that is just rude, but I have found that most places are very accommodating if you introduce yourself first, buy a drink at the bar and just ask if you can use the pool. We have never been refused or asked to pay.

A bit off the beaten track, Blue Green Residence (opposite Sunset Beach, Koca Calis) has/had a sign up outside saying non-residents welcome. It's a newish, pleasant enough place and has a seawater swimming pool.

What is considered a fair colleration between 1. use of bar/snack area and use of pool facilities and 2. between number of residents and non residents using the pool facilities.
