Title: Video to DVD
Post by: Highlander on November 04, 2015, 22:07:54 PM
I have a treasured video which I would like converted to DVD.

Do any members know of a reliable company who provide such a service and have experience of the service offered.

Highlander, if you are or were in Fethiye I could do this for you as this is my hobby/pastime. I have all the computer software and VCR's to do the conversion.

Regrettably I am only here for a few more days but can do the works in UK if you cannot find anyone else.

Regards,

TC

If you have a VCR and a laptop you can buy the connection cables to do the job yourself for about £6 on Ebay.

Try Dingwall Auction, (or any local Auction)  Video Recorders make about £1.00 at Auction.

Can I order 10 of these please Jaquie. I'll put them in my loft until they are worth £2 each.   ;)

I got one three hour tape done through eBay. The service was excellent; the tape was broken as I had tried it in a VCR and it got chewed up. It came back in a proper DVD case with illustrations from the recording on the case and the disc itself. Cost £14 and extras for a fiver each.

Try your local Auction if you want ten you wlll soon fill the loft, but I doubt you will sell them and double your money.    I have seen Video Recorders at Auctions (even the old Beta ones)  many times.   Most come from deceased estates where the Auction does a house clearance for relatives.  Lots are in very good condition.
This is why I mentioned it to H as I know he has an Auction Room quite nearby.

I know you are kididng Chris, but it is a good tip.  It is amazing what you get at Auctions.  When a deceased estate is Auctioned, you can get brand new household items, still in the boxes and wrappngs, i.e. towels, sheets, kettles, food mixers..and my personal favour garden tools, had some cracking bargains in them, a bundle of five for £1.00.

I think if it was my treasured Video I would be very careful who I handed it over to, and wouldn't

let the cost be the deciding factor. Once it's gone--------.

Try yellow pages for production companies H.
Totally agree with Kevin3 I would not be happy posting it off to an ebayer.
