Fethiye harbour front 1960

Here, I could relax.
Idyllic, Menthol.
Haven't a clue what Turkey was like in 1960 - not sure what the conditions would have been but I doubt air conditioning and en - suite bathrooms with flushing toilets would have been available.
Fethiye must have been another world then......Ottoman "glamping" at best I guess.

It would be lovely to see more taken at this time. Fascinating :)

The one I have never managed to find (and I've found loads) is a painting/photo of Kaya when it was a functioning Greek village. It would be amazing to see what all those shells were like when inhabited and bustling.

The photo is from this facebook page.
Great collection of old photos of the area.

Me too Keith, even went to an old Greek village in Cappadocia hoping to get more of an idea, it was totally different!

My favourite of all the old Fethiye photos and pictures is this:

This is the relatively new "town hall" - the building next to the Centrum Migros as it is today. No boats lined up for tourist trips, no tourists, no parking problems :D

From Sesame Street - "one of these two is not like the other".
.......still, it's progress.
