Title: What's missing?
Post by: Lotty on January 18, 2016, 22:18:03 PM
UBT's touched on this but I'm sure we're all wondering where our majesty is?? One of the most prolific, regular and informative contributors on this forum and we've not heard a word for weeks! Bit worried . . . I'm hoping it's a fabulously long (and obviously luxurious) cruise? Miss you already    ;)    :)

That's great news thank you Jim! So hopefully that means we might be hearing from her soon. ;D

If you're missing her that much, she's still offer her opinions on trip Advisor.

I was just a bit worried, someone who posted with such regularity becomes very noticeable by their absence.   :)

Lotty - I have been chatting to Jacqui and without breaking a confidence she is having to deal with some personal issues at the moment.

I have to say that I miss her posts on here albeit that I didn't agree with her sometimes but that goes for others on here.

I also have to say that if I was subjected to what she has to put up with sometimes on here I would not necessarily be in a hurry to return.

In my opinion it is too easy to add a smilie to a cutting, disparaging remark and dismiss it as banter.

If you don't like Jacqui's posts here's a radical suggestion - DON'T READ them

Hoping that Jacqui's personal issues are quickly resolved and she gets back on here asap.

Her pm's on buying issues have been so valuable.

A knowledgeable ( and sometimes contentious) poster.

Miss you Jacqui.....

Jacqui is not the only contentious poster on  here by a very long way.  :)

So what you're saying is that folks should just ignore any posts they either don’t like or disagree with?  Sorry, that's not how online forums work...

My point, poorly expressed as it was, was that there are surely polite ways to dislike or disagree with posts. That's how I would like an online forum to work.

A sort of "sanitised" CBF where everyone is nice and polite to each other?  No fun in that I'm afraid.

We haven't managed 13 years by being nice and polite to people.

Sorry but Jacqui gave as good as she got and often made personal remarks about certain members and you know what they say, if you can't stand the heat etc .....      ;)

Jacqui had some strong opinions. some of which were not popular, but she always gives as good as she gets.  Hope she returns soon, she has given lots of invaluable advice to many of us on this forum.

No question she is one of the most helpful people on the forum often being the first to respond to a query. I also agree she takes no prisoners, always giving as good as she gets but I have to say her posts are never malicious. The Forum is definitely much quieter without her (often entertaining) contributions. I hope she's back soon.  :)

Not wanting to be contentious :D but as long you take back what you give, then you are ok by me 8)

She certainly has given good advice - sometimes rather more than was needed or asked for  ;D   Credit where due though, she was always one of the first to share her experience and answer questions when many of us don't bother.
Come back Jacqui - I miss your posts, even the slightly irritating ones  :o .......... and we're all guilty of that at times   ;)

(Overdose of smiley thingies to show no offence meant   :)  :)  ;) ???  )

So does that mean we have upset her on CBF if she is still typing on facebook?

I would think that's a safe assumption.

Don't know how you can say that she is not posting because she's been upset by something or someone on here. I am on facebook and use that a lot more than this forum. I love the way some people assume things about others.
This forum gets more interesting everyday with all the gossiping lol.  :)Catching up with facebook maybe.  :)

If you were referring to me why did you suggest that I was assuming things about others.

The difference is, it's taken me 13 years to know how the forum members work. You've appointed yourself as a Calis Beach forum expert after just a few weeks.
Title: Re: What's missing?

Naw. I haven't appointed myself as an expert on anything on this forum. Why would i? I'm just observing and learning from all the experts who know how the forum members work. Not sure what that means tho.I have already learnt a lot on here and am grateful for it all. By the time Aug/Sept comes I will have learnt a lot more hopefully. And all down to the expert knowledge members on here have and who are willing to share
it with new members like myself.
Bed time now. Have a long day at the leisure centre tomorrow.
