Something to do with Turkey I guess ;)
Having an Efes in the UK immediately transports me immediately to Turkey, and a bottle of Black Sheep in Perth takes me to Harrogate.
Do other members have similar beer experiences? 8)

OH agrees.... Efes reminds him of Turkey....Black Sheep reminds him of where it's brewed..Masham/ midleham ....lurverly place....

Limoncello transports my mind back to days when we holidayed in Sorrento, from our hotel on the rocks looking over the bay of Naples and the Amalfi coast.
-
Me too Toky, we were in the Hotel Bristol when I had my first limoncello!

Efes - Turkey of course but more specifically Bozburun which is where I got very drunk on it late 1 night!
Red Stripe - Jamaica, my spiritual home.
Not beer but...
Vanilla Milk Shake (thick with ice cream not some watery concoction out of a bottle) - America where I holidayed as a child, never had 1 so good since!
Southern Comfort & Lime - Hickstead (between Brighton & Gatwick), was dating the barmaid of a local nightclub at the time, they had a SC promotion night, I was given a bottle so drunk it, never touched it since!

Vin blanc de cassis - our first trip to France.
Rum and black - Newcastle, my nineteenth birthday, never touched the filthy muck since.

No problem with that, he was a great friend & sorely missed. I saw his wife last month, she is doing ok, misses Lance terribly but that's to be expected of course. I went up to Catalarik cemetery & paid my respects...

Bacardi and coke, only to be drunk when in a hot country, with lots of ice!!. Never touch it at home?
-
Funny you should post that ec- I really didn't like Bacardi & coke at all. Then we went to Dominican Republic and went on a jeep safari excursion and handed them out - it was sensational! But like you, back home I don't much like it as before :)
-
Bacardi n coke started in Spain or the Canaries, like you Echogirl I never drank it at home though, in fact not for long anywhere! Too sweet. (Also coke just like coffee, stops me sleeping).

Limoncello always reminds me of Sorrento too. I was given some free in an restaurant to taste when we were there and I was hooked. I loved it and it is really nice on ice cream too. I took a bottle home, but it never tasted the same in Scotland.

Ansells bitter..for the men of the midlands..even typing it takes me back to walking past the factory. Right by HP sauce factory, the mixture of the 2 smells was something else.
Bacardi and coke, bought by a lady who was holidaying alone at Butlins minehead, think she wanted company and someone to dance with waiting for her barman to finish his shift, eeh I was about 14, me mother would have killed me and her if she had known.Never touched it since.
Big bottles cider, bought with the money off the bottles taken back to the outdoor and shared between us up the entry..ha putting swizzles in cos it made you get drunk quicker..I was 15.
Anfora wine, fish market at Fethiye..I blame Recep..
Well that was a quick trip down memory lane..You wouldnt believe it, but I hardly drink.
