Appears to be gaining some momentum, current count sitting at 1.5m or there abouts. Not too sure what it'll achieve, other then highlighting some folks displeasure with the result.

Edit: by my estimation, its receiving approx 1,000 signatures per minute - well, at least during the five mins or so I observed it. Not the most scientific analysis :)
-
Not too sure what it'll achieve,
Yes you are.
-
No coincidence that Bristol West is a bit of a hotspot for signatories.
I'm impressed Colwyn, I never envisioned you having almost nine thousand different email addresses.

I live in Bristol East. Bristol West is the posh lot in Westbury-upon-Trym (which is exactly like it sounds) and Clifton, and (ironically) Redland and they all vote Conservative over there - unlike the rest of Bristol which is Labour. I don't know what that tells us.
-
I see you've now started on Bristol East, 3,000+ and rising.

OK OK. You have cajoled me into signing the damn thing. I wish they had defined what this "rule" is. It isn't in Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. I can't remember this article being mentioned in the IN/OUT campaign but I suspect we are all going to hear a lot about it over the next two years - which, by the way, is all the time we have got to negotiate a new deal unless ALL the EU countries vote to extend the period.
-
There isn't a rule as it stands. Hence my comment that I really don't know what this petition will achieve, other than it being debated in parliament.
I don't think triggering Article 50 is mandatory, and going by the reaction of folk like Juncker they would rather it was a "quickie divorce" as opposed to a process drawn out over two years.
JF
-
A "quickie" shouldn't be difficult. Afterall, it wasn't exactly a deep and meaningful relationship.

This is the rule
The EU Referendum Rules apply to the UK's Brexit Referendum as follows:
"If the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based on a turnout less than 75%, there should be another referendum."
Petition gathering pace at more than two and a half million signatures now.

Analysis of the voting has shown that a big majority of the voters are British Passport holders who do not live in the U.K and also some are people who did not vote in the first place. This information was on the news last night.
This reminds me of the SNP. Just keep on asking for another vote until they get the result they want.
-
Oh the irony.
The petition, now standing with more than 3 million signatures, demanding the rule for a second referendum is implemented was set up more than a month ago by a committed Leave campaigner from English Democrats because he thought the Remain camp was going to win.
-
But is it possible a second vote might happen?
-
Anything is possible but I wouldn't bet on it.
However if there was another referendum I would bet on Remain. I know several people that instantly regretted their Leave vote come Friday morning and I have friends who know people like this too.

How is the analysis of the petitioners being carried out ?
-
Carried out by asking members of CBF who live in the U K of course KKOB, ;) Whats up with you? you slowing up. ;) :)
-
You're going to have to stop des. My sides can't handle anymore laughing.

The House of Commons petitions committee has said it is investigating allegations of fraud in connection with a petition calling for a second EU referendum.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36634407
Another website is saying that there were apparently 3,400 names registered on the petition this morning purporting to be from UK citizens residing in the Vatican City.

Smacks of sour and desperate losers to me. Whole thing would be laughable if the subject was not so serious, what do these second chanceer people not understand... they lost ... that's it. The country needs to move on to put in place the exit, and the sour German, French and EU politicos need to grow up too, and work with the UK to put in place an amicable separation.
Plus Salmond and Sturgeon should be told as impolitely as possible - cos I am sick of hearing from them - not to keep pointing a figurative gun to the head of the rest of the UK, about what they want for Scotland. Indeed, they should be careful what they wish for, cos the terms they may get, from both the UK and indeed those nice EU people, will not be as generous as they think they deserve!!

I am imagining Scotland being independent and part of the E.U., as the Oil depletes and we are all using the Euro and our taxes have gone up, we are paying for prescriptions and the Scottish Teenagers are paying for their University tuition and we no longer have the regular money from England to prop us up. Hope the E.U will help us out.
Jus as well Eck(Alex Salmond) has some cash. He has a 5 bedrooms converted mill, (full of antiques), with his own river runing through it, set in a few acres of ground in Strichen Aberdeenshire and now he is having a another Mansion built, to his own specifications, in his new constituancy near Inverurie. We are all wondering will he keep the two. ;)
-
But is it possible a second vote might happen?
Not based on this so-called "rule" because it was invented by the silly ass Outist who started the petition.
-
Finally, an answer to my question. Thanks Colwyn.
Someone suggested the Government could just ignore the referendum result and just stay in. Also, a new Government could claim to not recognise the referendum and again just stay in.
I wonder if either/both are possible?
-

Or at the very least the oil price stays at around $50 a barrel, rather than the $135 it was at the last Scottish Referendum.
-
77,000 "votes" have so far been removed by the Government Digital Service
This is also how some of the dodgy votes are getting through.

I assume now that a 'Cliff' (that's a large number of police officers despatched in the name of justice) are making there way round to Zoe's postal code to effect her arrest on charges of fraudulent practices, or even on a charge to do with Electoral Law .... come on even our plods must be able to find her now they near enough have her address in full??

Very well it seems now they have found 88,000 fraudulent votes.
