Title: the jewish tie stand
Post by: mary62 on June 29, 2016, 15:12:49 PM
A fleeing Taliban fighter desperate for water was lost in the Afghanistan desert when he saw something far off in the distance.
Hoping to find water, he hurried towards ‘the object’ only to find a little old Jewish man at a small stand selling ties.
The Taliban fighter asked, “Do you have water?!!?”
The Jewish man replied, “I have no water. Would you like to buy a tie? They are only $5.”
The Taliban fighter shouted, “Idiot! I do not need an over-priced tie. I need water! I should kill you, but I must find water first! "
“Okay” said the old Jewish man, “It does not matter that you do not want to buy a tie and that you hate me. I will show you that I am bigger than that. If you continue over that hill to the east for about two miles, you will find a lovely restaurant. It has all the ice cold water you need. Shalom”.
Muttering, the Taliban fighter staggered away over the hill.
Several hours later he staggered back, almost dead.
"Your fu**ing brother won’t let me in without a tie”.

Actually it is.

I'm assuming its the loss of life that's prompted your post - last night is a drop in the ocean in relation to the poor souls who have died this year in Turkey, the vast majority being in the east of the country and very few meriting much more than a passing mention in the Turkish press.

Are you suggesting that life stands still?  The day we do that is the day terrorists win.

Oh Really JohnF
Would you have been so quick to post your response if it had been a member of your family slaughtered by these terrorists.

For a few hours last night, until we managed to both make contact, it may very well have been...

Mary's daily jokes have helped to lift me from some very dark times in the last couple of months. I look forward to them now.    :)

Thank you Lotty.
I did ponder whether or not to post jokes, but decided that with the dreadful news, sometimes you need some light relief. If my jokes offend anyone I apologise, but also you do not have to read them, you can ignore this section!!
I take it that the people that are outraged actually read the joke, so who is kidding who??

No need for apology Mary, as you rightly say "you do not have to read them".
