A lorry has struck a crowd during Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice, with reports of many dead.

Some sites are saying that 30 - 50 have been killed.

After the lorry hit the crowd there were unconfirmed reports of sustained, heavy gunfire.

Saw reports of this coming through when watching news at 10, but no details then. Yet another awful attack on innocent people!   :'(

Le Figaro said at least 73 were killed, citing a police source.

  The latest figure is now at least 84 including 10 children. There are at least 50 children in Hospital and the

  authorities cannot find the parents of many of them. Just horrific, barbaric. There are millions of truck "weapons"

  driving around the worlds roads daily, so it's frightening really. RIP those killed and a speedy recovery to the injured.
