Or 9:55 you mean liz 101 ;)

Way too hot for me :o, which is why we never go in July/August. It's no fun if you can't even sit out in the sun for a while and are desperate for shade and air con!
-
Sounds lovely, so wish I was there 8) ;D
-
Just love it, and can't wait to still be sitting on my patio at midnight still roasting....is that wrong !8
-
What can you possibly do during the day when it's 92 !.
-
Too hot to sit out, too hot to lie by the pool. Too hot to walk around. I cannot see the pleasure in that. Even the Turks move up to the mountains in July and August to keep cool.
-
I couldn't bear July or August, you just can't breathe let alone move. I vaguely remember Keith saying how they'd all be standing in the pool in the early hours of the morning because of the heat. There's no joy in that level of discomfort for me. I was hopeless in early July (only once) :-[
-
I remember it being so hot that the pool was too warm! Sitting outside a bar at 1am doing nothing but the sweat rolling down the back of my neck. No thanks, this is why we go in October!
-
I actually spent an hour or so shopping in Kipa, didn't buy much, but enjoyed the air conditioning in there ;)
-
Yes, friends of mine who live there do that too! Just wandering around in the ecstasy of the chilled store. Problem is that you know you eventually have to leave and then it's like walking out into an oven or if there is a slight breeze, it's still just like a convector oven :-\.

I think I must have an under active thyroid or something cause even though it's hot I enjoy the heat, I can laze and dip by the pool all day and enjoy just chillin about in the evening. The only thing I do not enjoy about the july/aug heat is getting all dresd up for an evening out, so don't really bother now, so if you see a family of five looking like a load of tramps that'll be us!!!
-
Haha MarKar, vive la difference and all that :D
I think 5 years living there has put me right off - a week's holiday or two fine, from late June to early September and it's 40C every day...well it gets a bit irritating 8)
-
Bloody whimps. I was here in July 2008 when it touched 56.5 deg C which is around 134 deg F. I actually had to lie under a parasol for a lot of the day ;D
-
I was too 8)
-
Yes, I can appreciate living in it is a lot different to 3 weeks holiday, I remember 2008 well, if my memory serves me weren't the roads melting, and something to do with the car interior parts melting that had been left parked in fethiye all day??.
-
H, I translated your 92F into real money and it is only 33C. That's not hot! 40C is hot. Above 45C? Then it gets unbearable.
-
The BBC are forecasting 40C for Fethiye today which is 104 in Fahrenheit. 8)

My daughter went out to our place in August and as we suspected it was far too hot for my Granddaughter and they ended up taking her to the Erasta on a regular basis thoughout the holiday, because it was air-conditioned and had children's rides. It was the only place that she was comfortable. It cost them a small fortune in rides, ice cream and visits to the big toy shop.
