Only left my tablet on the plane..rang but can take 72 hours. Monarch could have it, police, security..I left ithe in magazine rack..fingers crossed I get it back. Just to top it all the phone broke n had to wait for a spare to charge. Suprised myself how much I miss turkey despite being with family and waiting for a new grandson. .

I was going to allow you those cheap digs on the Costa de Luz, but can imagine ten minutes after you walked through the door our consumer unit would go on fire, the water tank would start to leak and it would start raining, in June!!!
Seriously though, you will get it back - the woman who runs lost prop at malaga and I are on first name terms through a combination of kids and their friends coming out. So far two tablets, a jacket and one expensive camera. If it's closed I now know where she'll be, having a cuppa with her mates :)

A friend of ours left his iphone on a B.A. Flight coming in from the States. He realised he had left it as soon as he got into the Airport and told stafff, of course he could not go back, but he asked if staff would bring it to him. Nothing happened when he returned to his house he made lots of enquiries and no one had found the iphone. However, iphone replaced his phone under an insurance he had with them.
Bernie, if you don't get your ipad back, check your insurance.
-
Jacqui it's not an I pad it's a Samsung galaxy tab. It's not covered by insurance, unfortunately. I have to phone back as monarch bring their stuff down bulk. So tomorrow will tell.
-
Usually after a plane lands the cleaning crew go on board to do their job. If they are an honest crew they should find it and hand it in and i hope they do. I cannot see a passenger seeing it and taking it as they get off the plane. So good luck on getting it back Bernie.

I'm making the assumption that Monarch are no different to EasyJet, Ryanair et al, therefore the procedure is that the cabin crew do a walk through the cabin immediately after the last passenger disembarks. Any property left (other than newspapers, magazines etc) is handed over to there ground handling agents who then pass it over to the airport lost & found office with details of the flight and row where found. As far as I know, they do not make any enquiries themselves to reunite folks with property.
I don't know where you flew into, but for Manchester, try: Telephone: 0330 223 0893 Email: manchester@luggage-point.co.uk and Birmingham: Email: birmingham@luggage-point.co.uk Tel: 0330 223 0893 followed by Option 1. These are the contact details for the folks who deal with stuff left on planes or anywhere airside.

Thanks John it's luggage point bhx I'm in contact with. She said today monarch hand their stuff in bulk and it will be bought down tomorrow if it's there. There is also a live list where u can see what's been handed in. See what tomorrow brings.

Bernie, Check your household insurance it may cover this. Worth a try. I know I lost a watch in Istanbul and my insurance paid out for it.
-
I don't have a house jacqui
-
I left my purse on a flight to Alicante last year.. The Monarch crew found it and it was handed into the ground crew at the airport.. I picked it up on my way home.. I wouldn't worry about it too much... All my cards and cash were intact...
-
I don't have a house jacqui

BernieTeyze...the only person lucky to have left their iPad on a plane...
-
Haven't bought it yet..it's in a garage. Thanks to cbf member who's flogging it me.

All the stuff you brought over in your boxes not insured? Some contents policies cover losing items outside the home, mine does, so jewellery, watches, phones, Ipads Might be worth you asking about contents insurance over in Turkey.
Sorry I thought you owned the property as you have put in a solar water heater, a mains water system and you are getting all the water pipes renewed in your house. Great that the landlords are paying for that then.
-
No jacqui..have new pipes and I paid for it all...the mains water, the solar installed, new water pipes and next week there will be mossie nets throughout and a soba..The boxes had my bedding in, clothing and insured by parcel2go.
-
Bernie, I look forward to the new adventures of the next chapter of your life, and this time round
you will be better prepared. I really admire your determination and spirit. Go kid. !!! ;) ;)
-
It was my intention to write my new blog as soon as I got back and settled. There is already a lot to tell,as jacqui has already mentioned
-
Talk about interrogation :)

Your boxes not insured now though Bernie, I know I worked for an Insurance Company and losing everything in, say, a fire and having to start again is devastating. It does not seem that you have much, but as the guy I used to work for told our customers, get a pen and paper and go around the house and note everything you own and then imagine losing everything, just work out how much it would cost to replace, if you only have the clothes you are standing up in.
Also, the reason I assume you owned is you are paying for the new stuff in the house yourself, which is not usual if you are renting, it is a lot of money, fingers crossed you have a great rental agreement.
James it is not interrogation, it is concern for another member who I have got to know and remember what happened last year. ;)
-
Talk about interrogation :)
It's called concern not interrogation. You really have a problem interpreting everyday things correctly.

My tablet got stolen...never recovered from the aircraft..b*****ds

Sorry to hear this, happened to me when my phone slipped out of my bag down the back of the seat. I realised before we even got to baggage reclaim but they wont let you back on. Said it would be handed in and to check next day. As we left the plane the cleaners were piling on. I never got it back, and at the time was on pay as you go. Several calls to SENEGAL later and my cash had disappeared. I was with Orange and they basically accused me of lying and of making the calls myself. It was appalling and only after weeks of 'communication', repeating everything every single time, we managed to find a higher person at Orange. There was no real apology but it was so distressing, I changed to EE.
-
Did you have a sort of carry over period from your U.K. Insurance BernieTeyze? Or was it terminated from an immediate date?. Sometimes if you pay direct debit you are covered until end of month. Goods in transit cover?
-
No electrical wasn't covered.
-
A few years back I had my phone taken off my seat as I stood getting stuff out of the
overhead locker to disembark at Dalaman. Despite all efforts I never got it back. A good start
to that trip and not knowing who to contact, getting the phone disabled from Turkey ect didn't
help.
