Peter Vaughan, best known for his roles in Porridge and Game Of Thrones, has died today aged 93, his agent said.

I'll be perfectly honest, I didn't recognise the name at first, but certainly knew the face.

I didn't know the name either but I knew the face - "genial" Harry Grout from Porridge.
Brilliant comedy villain in that programme.

As with everyone else, didn't instantly recognize the name but certainly knew the face.
Another fine actor left us. RIP :(

I did know who he was. I remember he was once married to that great actress the late Billie Whitelaw. Always liked Peter Vaughan, he played quite a lot of baddies in the films, theartre and T.V.

Apart from the two programmes that have been mentioned he was also in "Our Friends in the North". What a great series that was. RIP.

He also played in a TV series about a London family of villains called Fox. I seem to remember Ray Winston in it too?

Peter was also in "Citizen Smith" with Robert Lindsay.
