As a matter of interest, on the UNIFREE website, that's the company who run the Duty Free at Turkish airports, there's the following message:-
In accordance with the provisions of the Law No: 4207 on the Prevention and Control of the Harms of Tobacco Products, the Spirits and Alcoholic Beverages Monopoly Law No: 4250, and the Law No: 4733 on the Organization and Duties of the Tobacco and Alcohol Market Regulatory Authority and relevant regulations; information regarding alcohol and tobacco products is not published on our website.

my guess is it will be cheaper on the plane or at the departure airport.

Depends on the company you come out with. Easyjet does not sell cigarettes, tobacco or alcohol on flights out. I was surprised as the brochure had none of these products and only perfume and jewellery etc., was on offer.

We found the same Jacqui.
On our outbound flight also with EasyJet, passengers were not able to purchase cigarettes or alcohol.
For anybody interested we purchased a litre bottle of Grants Whisky (Gatwick ) around £15.00.
(We also purchased a second bottle at Dalaman and the price was much the same)
Dave.

Going home you can save your tired arms, there is always a UK supermarket somewhere selling spirits at £15 for a litre bottle :)

EasyJet were selling on our flight both outbound and inbound. 2 litres for £20 the whisky was Ballantynes.

Ha Ha...I actually got it for a friend here in Turkey Keith.
(Unfortunately I had no luggage allowance left so had to get it en-route as it were)
And you are right I have seen plenty in the UK supermarkets cheaper!
Dave.

Fran, They were not selling on our flight or on Faymoores. So, best for members to check if their EasyJet flight sells alochol and tobacco. Seems some flights don't. Amazing when we flew from Scotland and Fay most have flown from the London area
-
Spirits available on our easy jet flights both ways but only gin, vodka and whiskey. No brandy. Not to worry though, 7star Metaxa available at Dalaman for very good price (and Sobrano).
-
Nearly all Easyjet flights are EU to EU so they aren't particularly geared up for duty free sales :)
-
well Blueclad how did you get on? Where did you get the duty free, in UK or Turkey? Coming out oursleves on Tuesday...will see you at the Oykun.

Hi we wanted to buy a bottle of whiskey for a friend over in Turkey. Bells was £13 in Gatwick. £12.50 on our Monarch flight and £15 in Dalaman airport. Cannot comment on other drinks but definitely cheaper to buy on you way in. Or if going home buy at home. In the past we have always found it cheaper in Dalaman. Hope that helps
