Most hotels are happy to allow you to use their pool if you are buying drinks and snacks from their pool bar.  The Aymes Hotel is lovely and will always welcome you.

Like Ray1951 says most hotels will let you use their pool if you are buying snacks and drinks and again can recommend the Aymes. It's a lovely pool area. Also Letoon Hotel on the prom. Lovely pool and staff who will look after you.

Many will, but one I have noticed actively saying they do is the Akkent - a little out of the main centre (courts & hospital/new Calis park end) but really nice by all accounts

Wow, 1978 is pre Dalaman being a commercial airport - did you fly into Izmir or how was it done back then?

So back then Calis......Calis was still special despite lack of the modern infrastructure.   American Cadillacs I like !!!  They aint cheap to buy import or run!! Did taxi drivers make a good living back then? tell us more pleeze

I have to say sorry to scunner and the others on this post it seems i got caught in a ten year time warp vehicle fuelled by nothing less than 5 per cent alchohol it was 1987 not 1978 but all the stories are still relevant the cadilacs were used by the police back then and were not not to be messed with it was one taxi cadilac that took us to calis for the first time and some 30 plus years later i will be back again ,i will try to find pics to post although many of our turkish friends have had some over the years cheers and once again sorry for the error

There used to be a lot of American cars in Turkey, especially around Istanbul. Many were used as dolmuses because they had enough room for 3 rows of seats.

Just off the main road road near Ortaca there's a vehicle graveyard / museum with several old cars and a yellow school bus.

We never used the pool but it is open to all.The hotel is impressive and the bar/restaurant area fitted out to a high standard in fact we got introduced to the Turkish lady that designed it.We had a couple of nice meals there, and if being on the front was not a priority this would be a lovely place to stay.  8)
