On Monday, an Ankara court handed down 10-year sentences to three defendants charged with poisoning stray dogs, in one of the harshest sentences for such a crime in recent memory.

Yep. But they'll probably serve the full-term if their appeal fails. Unlike if they were convicted in the UK.
