Title: Jet2 refunds? What's happening?
Post by: daveG on April 17, 2020, 10:43:40 AM
We were due to go out on 13th April to DLM. We were advised that owing to the virus this would be cancelled. The last communication was on the 27th March to say "bear with us and we'll be in touch a few days before you were due to depart".
Since then not heard anything. Unable to contact with tel/my booking/and e-mail.
Eventually found on web sheet 15th Apr "REQUEST A REFUND CREDIT NOTE" filled in form for refund, however unable to submit because we did not accept a credit note.
Is anyone else on the same merry go round.? I appreciate the difficult circumstances , however our payment was made immediately (January)

Yes exactly the same issue!  I understand they must be overwhelmed but it is frustrating.

Same boat here they’ve got £950 of my hard earned and On the Beach Another £236.
Heard from both of them who say they will refund and to bear with them as they are doing it in datal order. As we weren’t due to fly until May 14 I won’t really expect any further contact until about 3 weeks time.
If things don’t improve I’ll be in the same boat with Easy jet for our end of July holiday they have £500 of ours.
Also Easy Jet September(Looking pessimistically)they have £600 for that .
Looks like a year of taking on the corporates

That’s good news as they were not offering these before as an option unless you could reach them by phone. Maybe it’s in response to the government announcing that the lockdown is likely to be extended and furlough period now extended to include June.

See, I've only paid deposit for September with jet2 package. Shall I cancel now and lose £120,(or would it be more?) Or pay balance by due date in June and not have the money or a holiday. Haven't taken out insurance yet so not sure how it works?

Bit the bullet and cancelled. Lost deposit, but i d rather do that than pay full price for a holiday i can't go on. As soon as we are able to we will rebook flight and pay hotel direct.

received notification that as we had accepted a cancellation they now would be unable to make a refund.
Within two hours we were told to ignore said e-mails and that they would be refunding total cost on my card
within next 28days. So hopefully result at last.

We should have flown on 4th May. This I a pasted copy of e mail received from Jet 2 yesterday.

"We’re sorry that your flight is no longer going ahead due to the unprecedented coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We know how much you were looking forward to a well-deserved break. Please see below for your affected booking(s).

We will automatically refund the total cost of your booking. This will be credited to the card you paid with within the next 28 days.

Please note that you’ll be automatically sent documentation that may seem irrelevant to the transaction above. This is part of a process that we can’t change at the moment while we’re focusing on dealing with the high volume of affected bookings."

I booked my holiday via On The Beach So it’s Hotel and flight separate. Therefore I e been in regular dialogue with OTB who have been very good explaining I will be refunded Hotel and accommodating separately but it will take some time to sort.
In the middle of this Iam then contacted by Jet2 to say I will be given a voucher/credit note for the flight part of the holiday -no chance !
Contacted OTB who said not to correspond with Jet2 as they have done it on my behalf, refund is confirmed and on the way ,so it’s a case of watch this space
