So when EJ had their 99p luggage deal on I also booked some of the sports equipment as we have some items we want to take for our apartment, can I box up the items and mark it as sports equipment or am I going to have to actually take a snowboard with me ( Iv only ever booked hold luggage before so have no clue whether the box will be checked for “said snowboard!)

I think you might be rumbled when they x-ray said 'sports equipment' and see the shapes of a false leg, a George Formby ( ;) ) grill, a space hopper, an ear trumpet and a large garden gnome. :)

Oooh no this is what I was wondering KKOB as in it really does have to be a piece of sports equipment?
Not sure why I chose a snowboard of all things considering the heat of Turkey in August ;)

;D ;D oh dear Karennina that made me laugh!

It would be interesting to know what people’s experiences are of hold luggage when travelling with EasyJet from now, going forward. I know that provided the cabin luggage conforms to the size restrictions, weight doesn’t matter provided you can lift the case/bag and place it in the overhead lockers. However in order to get people off flights quicker, they said the wouldn’t allow cabin luggage.

We flew Easyjet last week to Belfast and there was no difference in regard to cabin baggage. The difference came when disembarking, you weren't allowed to move (even stand or get your bag out of the overhead locker) until the row in front of you had vacated.
Irrespective of Covid-19, it was the most efficient way I've seen.

You weren't knocked over by the Smokers then, disembarking, 😛😛😛

Providing EasyJet still do the hands free, I’ll be happy with that. I think they should have a discount for people booking checked in luggage out & inbound and allow people to book luggage one way.

In fairness after leaving the plane it was every man for himself :D - off the plane no longer easyjet's responsibility. But in truth people social distance quite well in Scotland, and the controlled disembark made it sort of naturally spaced out.
