Hi Everyone,
Peter and Ros Waring are settling in Fethiye (well, Uzumlu actually)effective from late February, we have a few burning questions, no pun intended.
1 We need a portable gas fire who is the best supplier?
2 We need an immersion heater to be fitted to our hot water system, again, who is best contact?
3 We are hoping to start working on our garden, where can we get some decent plants, tools etc?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, although we have spent many happy holidays in Fethiye/Uzumlu, we have yet to make too many useful contacts.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Peter and Ros

Hi and welcome to the Forum...Good luck with your impending move.
1. Nothing to choose between most but suggest you use a supplier in Uzumlu.
2.Any plumber but again use a local one if you can (Only about 20 mins job)
3 About six or so within 200 metres of Migros
If you are stuck for a plumber email me, I have a very good one but he is based here in Fethiye so you have got to consider travelling time.

Hi Peter and Ros
Welcome to the forum and good luck with your move. Hopefully we will be on a one way ticket to Ovacik later in the year.
There's a search facility at the top which may help.

hi peter and welcome we are not far from you, catalarik and we use the local tradesman in gunlukbasi and the garden centre on the gunlukbsai road by the roundabout, we planted our garden this year and all the plants we got are all blooming

Hi Guys
Welcome to the forum and to my location soon !
We moved to Uzumlu from Calis about 5 weeks ago and I have yet to find a garden centre/nursery.
Because a lot of the plants in the nurseries down in Fethiye are not hardy enough for the cold Uzumlu nights, we would prefer to buy locally on the assumption that they sell plants suitable for the temperatures. Maybe one of the forum members know of a place. Would be grateful for the info myself

Re plants. When we get to Uzumlu in April I shall have a nosey in peoples gardens, to see what grows there. I know burgonvilia (how ever you spell it) does not grow there, but I shall try it with plenty of mulching etc. Roses do well & vines, fruit trees as well. There is a lovely wild? lemon coloured clematus growing around the area, which I would like in my garden. I haven't had time for a "nosey yet" but will do as I love my plants. I am told if you push cuttings into the ground, most of them take! Will be trying geraniums, Canis, anything I like really. I bought some seeds (I know naughty me)from calis to UK of a purple leafed, pink flowered plant it's beautifull, similiar to a runner bean, I had not seen this before or since, so I will be bringing from the Uk some seeds to plant in our garden in Uzumlu!!!! Can't wait to have our garden in flower. Elaine

Hi guys,
There is a new gardening club in Fethiye area. I believe most members are expats - and experts on local gardening practices.
