My name is Helen and am married to Bill, we have three children ages 29, 27 and 23 and 8 grandchildren, ages ranging from 1 to 9. We live in Cardiff Wales and own our home in Calis with my sister Pat and her husband John. Bill is the Manager of a residential home for people with a Mental health illness, and I am Senior Care Manager for a Domicilliary Care Agency. We visited Turkey last year along with 12 others, for the first time with some trepidation, we only went there because the price was right. We didn't know then that it would change our life completely and that we would meet so many friends as a result. Within two weeks of returning we had all booked to go again this September to (sorry for this swear word Scunner - Icmeler), but then decided we wanted to buy a property abroad, I suggested Turkey, he agreed, and Bobs your Uncle, Jacks your Dad, you all know the rest. With the help of you all we were led to Calis and just fell in love with the area, the people and everything. We have now cancelled (here it is again Icmeler) and all 33 of us descend on Calis on 19th of this month. It can't come soon enough. All being well we will have to have a house warming party and everyone welcome.

I will forgive the occasional mention of THAT word.
Well I suppose I'll introduce myself, not that many people don't know me.
I'm married to the current wife, Steph, and have been for 11 long years. We live in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, the thinking mans' Luton.
I work for a coatings company as project manager, my latest project being the new Wembley stadium, so if it rusts it's my fault. Steph used to work for bra & skimp company Gossard, but retired to bring up our twin girls, Robyn & Abbie. They are coming up 3 (in October).
I bought twice in Calis and run www.calisvilla.co.uk - I can advertise because I pay for the bandwidth so no arguments please :)

Hi All
My name is Howard. I am a system developer for a large insurance company. We live in Stalybridge Cheshire. I am married to Val and we have 2 grown up kids and too many Grankids. We have been all over Turkey, Kusadasi, Dalyan, Istanbul,Alanya, Kas, Hisaranou and last but not least Calis. We went to Calis for the first time last year. We fell in love with the place straight away so much so that we bought our first house there. In fact we like it so much we are considering buying another one. I am really looking forward to contributing to this forum and wish it every success.

Here goes :D : Well I'm Terry, always have been and always will be! Disabled law grad partnered with John, I have 3 kids, 21, 14 and nearly 3 and John has two, my youngest and another 14 year old....well we know who's is who's.:P I worked in Turkey many years ago though in Istanbul and Ankara and have to say city life is very different.
We went looking at properties in Kusadasi in July and came away having secured the one we wanted while we sell our house here. That's in the final stages now and I should be out again the next few weeks to complete on the villa before coming back to complete here so we can make the final move.
Although you are all Calis orientated I'll have a Kusadasi site/forum up later which I hope will coexist mutually. I'll know I'll be visiting the old scun once we're settled and he can come visit us to take in the delights of Guzel Camli. 8)

Hi. I'm Pat sister to Nelideen. married to hubby John for 21 years.
Two daughters 15 & 18. Bought a house with Helen, not planned at all to buy. Scunners fault sending us to Calis. Really didn't want to go to Turkey 2002 i thought it dirty, smelly and just horrible, i wanted to go to Greece. Ended up in Marmaris, loved the people not so much the place preferred ( sorry scunner has to be said ) Icmeler.
As Helen said were going sept.03. Again didn't want to go to Calis only went with Helen for protection as she was buying didn't know who was meeting her from airport so hubby and i escorted her and hubby for one week and came home with a house as one does!!.
My only regret is i wont be staying at the Ernur. What a place, i'm more excited about going back there than the house, maybe that will change when we find the house and it's furnished.
So where on count down for our holiday 19th of this month
Can't wait to meet up with whoever's out there.
By the way i'm Helens younger sister.

merhaba,
we are Derrick and Evelyn, from Bradford.
We have been going to Calis for about four years, usually staying at one of the beach front hotels, the Mendos and Seketur etc. Also stayed at the Aries.
We have been married for 32 years and have one daughter and one grand-daughter. She was an instant hit in Calis last year!(blond hair and blue eyes and all of 4 years old)
We should be landing there in about 46 hours and are staying at the Vegat Apartments
-
Merhaba Derrick and welcome, we are all envious of your impending visit to Calis, but be warned we will have our revenge, won't we Marly, Scunner, Patty & Helen. When you get back to Bradford, we will be setting off for Calis.
Any chance you can join us next May for our www.calis-beach.co.uk party ?

Hi,
I'm Mags and husband is Carl. At present we live in a small village in Lancashire. We are going Turkey on the 14th of September to look for property in the quieter areas of the Bodrum Peninsular. Calis is one of the areas we considered buying and still might if we can't find a suitable property in Bodrum. We holidayed in Calis last year and loved it. The only problem was the exceptonal amount of mosquitoes which make a beeline for me.
Carl is already retired and I am to taking early retirement in a couple of months after many years as a ward sister in mental health. We intend to move to Turkey for a few years and see how it goes.
Our 3chidren are 35,33 and 31. We have 3 grandchildren

Hi. My name is Gordon (48)and my wife is Angie (40). We live in Cheshire in the north of England (not too far from Rimms). I work as General Manager for a construction company which provides steel erectors to some of the main contractors. Angie works for B&Q. I have 3 kids (21, 19 & 15) from my first marriage.
We first went to Turkey (Gumbet) in 1999 and loved it. We have visited every year since. We have been to Fethiye area 3 times and really love the area.
We are looking to purchase our own property in Calis area in 2004 and are looking for any advice from those of you who have already take the plunge. Keith (Scunner), Helen (nelliedean) Stoop and Rimms have already offered some good advice. Thanks.
From reading some earlier 'posts' it sounds as though the Calis Owners 'Social Scene' is gathering pace and we hope soon to become part of it. Cant imagine much better than having a few beers (or vodkas in Angie's case):P and sharing stories and jokes :Dwith friends sat at a seafront bar.
Regards

Hi I'm Maggie, I live in Coventry. I am self employed and work as a Cost Draftsman. I'm married to John, who is a Solicitor and we have two teenagers that are 15 and 16.
We went to Calis in July, it was all a bit last minute as we were supposed to be in Kalkan, but we all absolutely fell in love with the place and plan to go back as often as we can!
We have seriously thought about buying a villa or an apartment in Calis and as soon as finances will allow it, I think we will, just not sure when that will be!
Good luck with the site, I love it already!

Possibly able to be in Calis in May, as all things it depends on work and family commitments. Will certainly bear it in mind though when making holiday plans. :)

What a brilliant start.
Welcome to everyone and enjoy your visits here.

Hi everyone,
We are Jo and Pete. I'm a secretary and Pete is a LGV driver. We have been married for 33 years, have two sons, one daughter in law and one grandson. Our knowledge of Turkey was a 2 week holiday in 1988 to Bodrum. Came up with the bright idea of buying a property in Turkey this year. Roped some friends in, Ann and John - their knowledge of Turkey was a short break in Istanbul. Did a fair amount of research on the internet but kept getting drawn to Calis. We looked around for a few days in various areas and bought a detached villa in Calis. The builder took us to Uzumlu the next day to choose tiles etc. and we ended up buying another villa idential to the one in Calis in Uzumlu. Must be the Turkish sun went to our heads but we have no regrets. I am so pleased I found this site as it's all a bit scary. The villa in Uzumlu should be finished in October and the Calis one end of April 2004.
Hope to meet up with you all.
