Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Smiler1 on February 07, 2006, 20:22:19 PM: Hello everyone, my name is Gary,(Smiler to everyone), I'm married with two kids and I'm from Essex, I've recently purchased a villa in Dalaman which is not a million miles from Calis Beach.

I returned last week from a brief visit to Dalaman where the weather was a pleasant 62 degrees, but with the surrounding mountains topped with snow, it looked more like an Alpine resort than a one on the med/aegean sea.

My villa should be complete in May/June time and I'll hopefully get chance to explore further affield and visit the Calis Beach/Fethyie area. From personal experience I can recommend Sarigerme beach and the marina village of Gocek.

Well thats me!! I look forward to reading everyones posts and hopefully contribute something worthwhile myself.

I am from Essex too. We have bought an apartment at Calis Beach, completion due end June. I havn't been to Dalaman yet, but intend to visit next time I am over.

Welcome to the Forum.Its good to have some more Essex members.
We live near Braintree and signed up for an apt in Gunlukbasi (Calis) hopefully ready in May.Dalaman sounds a good choice lots of plans and goverment investment, so good luck.

Hi GT

To be honest, it was the cost of property at the moment, you can get a lot of property/land for a pretty good price. I spoke to many people before actually visiting and committing to Dalaman. Dalman itself is nothing special at the moment but with the proposed development around the area, proximity to airport and central location to Callis, Marmaris, Gocek and Dalyan, it seemed a good area to invest in.

Actually to be more succinct, it was the sunbathing and golf that swung it. :D

Welcome to the forum.My husband and myself live in Basildon which is not to far from Braintree, we have brought an apartment in Calis beach which will be finished in july.We are going over on 24th February and wondered what the weather was like.

Are you by any chance buying on the Hillside development?
It's just that the development is also due for completion
