Hi my name is Steve, nickname Soapy.  I live in Norfolk in England, UK and have two daughters, Sam and Vicky.  I work for the East Anglian Ambulance Service.  Prior to this I was a Firefighter for 23 years.

I bought a villa in Ovacek in September 2005.  My girlfriend, Kathy, and I are flying out 3 April to furnish the villa prior to its completion (two extra basement bedrooms) around May/June.

The site was recommended by a colleague of Kathy's who has an apartment in Hisaronu.  I've been browsing today and some of my initial questions have already been answered.!

As you can imagine I have several questions so please be patient - all comments gratefully received.!

Many thanks for your replies.  Sorry I've been offline, pc was sick but now back up and running.  Kathy and I are counting the days until we're back in Turkey.  We're still working on the huge list of questions but, as a starter for 10, any suggestions on where to buy furnishings and sky tv.?  Any other information/advice for beginners like us will be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome Soapy- the search facility will give you tons of info on the furniture and TV question- I know cos I asked the same. Both topics have been covered very comprehensively. I'm sure you'll enjoy the process of buying though- its great fun.

Furniture......Spend a day just browsing....depends on what style and budget you are looking for.  TV..... Digiturk (Turkish equivalent of Sky ) packages start at 14.90 YTL per month or Freeview...Up and running for about 130 YTL but not much chioce in English. As mentioned lots more info by using search facility. :)

Hi soapy and welcome, as regards sky tv, i suppose its ok if you rent it out, but to me if its only for yourselves, if you are only going for about 8wks a year is it worth the expense, is it going to get much usage, ours wouldn't. Alan
