Seeing Robert Kubica's horrendous crash in the Canadian Grand Prix reminded me off a scrape I had a number of years ago.
Tried to take a very sharp corner way too fast - back of car "went" - tried to correct it - car went up on two wheels and sped towards a dry stone wall.
Fortunately some other lunatic had already demolished part of the wall, and I found the gap that he (or she) had created.
Ended upside down thirty feet below in a stream which was in spate. As I felt the water rising, I reached for the seat belt. Of course I had forgotten I was upside down and my hand was heading in the wrong direction. Second attempt fortunately immediately found the release mechanism and I manage to release the belt and crawl through to the back seat where there was less water. By which time loads of farmer workers were coming down the bank carrying pick axe handles to break into the water filled car and eventually free me.
The result of all of which was this....

Anyone else had a narrow escape.
