Hi Heather.
I speak enough Turkish to keep myself out of trouble, ask directions, handle restaurant staff,
order meals etc, book into hotels and keep on the right side of officialdom but not enough to handle proper conversations. I actualy bought a teach yourself Turkish book this year to try and get my head around Turkish grammer and its turned out to be quite an eye opener.
How about you
Mike.
PS. I have posted a short missive about my early years in Turkey under Turkish tales,
if any one is interested.

Yes i read your post it was lovely Mike lets have some more of your tales of travel. Yes i have been learning Turkish for a while now I went to Warwick university once a week for a few terms. My teacher is a Turkish guy from Istanbul. He taught me to read write and speak Turkish. I can now have a conversation with my friends and I understand quite a bit but I am still learning and I think that a Turkish person may say that im not yet fluent but I intend to be one day. Turkish is a beautiful language but very difficult. It's great to know that you are learning too.

Hi Mike
Welcome to the forum. Wonder how you found your way here? Have a good time on the mountain next week. Also with buying a jacket for the "outsize" man.
Cheers, Colwyn
