Several ways of trying to get round the fact that members are unable to email each other, with varying levels of failure
The problem is (in basic terms) that our hosts are trying to cut down on hacking (cheers) and spamming. This now means that our mail server will only send/receive emails that are
from CBF or
to CBF. If neither the sender or the person they are emailing have @calis-beach.co.uk in their email address, it is not forwarded.
This is to stop nasty folk using our mail server to send spam emails. It is pretty important for site security.
Obviously this means that an email from one member who's email address is @yahoo.co.uk to another who is @hotmail.com falls foul of this.
My proposal is:
Automatically cc (copy) the email to a @calis-beach.co.uk address, something new like memberpost@calis-beach.co.uk, then have the server automatically delete the copy on arrival.
OK
In real terms:
The member to member email will work again, just as before, but you will be sending a copy to us, which will not be read, it will be deleted before it arrives.
I can't prove we won't be seeing your emails, but you can trust me that we won't
I have enough rubbish to read without hearing which new foundation or lip gloss is worth a try.
