Heard Peter Starstedt's name on the radio the other day and it instantly reminded me of the lyric....
"But where do you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed"
Calis is the obvious answer and is taken as a "given".
But for me it would be a tiny stone butt'n'ben in a remote part of the West Coast of Scotland. There would be no electricity in the cottage. Light would be from tilley lamps. Even although there would be a howling gale outside and the horizontal rain would be driving against the tiny single glazed windows, the cottage would be totally comfortable and cosy. I'd be well wrapped up in various layers and be wearing a large pair of wool socks gazing into a roaring log/peat fire with a large Blackwood gin and tonic in one hand and a Rembrandt cigarette in the other.
And, of course, there would be one other element to this idyllic scene, but you all know what that is.
So where do you go to when you are alone in your bed.
Obviously only "clean" replies are sought
PS Great lyrics in that song by the way
