Does anyone know if there is a pet cemetary in the Fethiye area.  A friend is very close to losing a very dear pet and would like to be able to visit his resting place.  Many thanks in anticipation

There is a pet cemetary at the animal shelter on the Uzumlu road out of Gunlukbasi, for any information you would have to contact Emre the vet who is there most afternoons and speaks good English.

Ingo Angel - the pet cemetary that tinx has mentioned is in a beautiful, peaceful position and I can imagine it would be a nice place to sit and remember a special friend.

Thanks Tinx and Pookie, I have passed the information on and our friends are very grateful, they are about to phone Emre.  Hopefully this will ease their sad loss, thanks once again.

We visited the pet shelter while in Calis and must comment on what a fantastic job there are doing there. We all left a donation to help keep up the good work they are doing there.
Angel this is a beautiful place. I hope your friend has some comfort from knowing that her pets resting place is somewhere that also helps the living not so furtunate animals that dont have a loving owner that she is..

I don't think that much of this animal shelter as we bought a 3mnth old pup from there and had to have her put down after a week as she had destemper, and as there is a on site vet i wasnt happy that this happened

Emre is and excellent vet and does a lot of work off his own back for no money in return, when you deal with the amount of dogs they deal with up there now and then an odd one may slip through the net especially puppies, but I have to say before any dog or cat is released from there they are given innoculations and thorogh check over.

Perhaps you could come to the summer dance with Karen on Saturday, donate some money and help improve the facilities.

We saw the pup we wanted we were told to put money in the tip box and go,no examination was made or jabs given, and from speaking to other people who have been there the same has happned to them, and they didnt seem concerned when we took her back to be put down
