sending parcels from turkey to england

i have been searching on google, and i am still not sure on how to send parcels to england. i have looked at a few websites but they dont seem to tell me prices or how long it would take.

if any one has done this or knows any information could they plz let me know as i want to send christmas presents to the uk.

It depends on the size and weight of the parcels.

If you're talking about small packages, then the PTT "signed for" service is as good as any other. Although you may get let down at this time of year by the UK Post Office.

Otherwise, use any of the local cargo companies but expect them to be expensive. You can opt for a variety of service speeds ranging from 3 to 14 days, but of course, the quicker the service, the greater the cost.

Finally My Lord, it might be worth considering sending one of your staff with the presents.

I send parcels to the UK most days and the feedback is current delivery time to the UK is 7-10 days if you use the signed for service.

Use the PTT signed for service (recorded delivery - tracking number issued and signature required on receipt) for under 2 kilos.

Very small form to fill in just put your name and the name and address of person it's going to. This will be stamped and tracking number added. This is your receipt/proof of posting.

In Fethiye PTT go in turn left and use either of the 2 end counters on the right.


Turn right and go to the far end counter for the PTT cargo service for over 2 kilos. It says Kargo over the desk. Parcels to the UK by plane take approx 10 days; by ship which is cheaper take approx 15 days.

No more than 10 items in any one package or it will go via customs. Maximum weight 30 kilos.

Leave these parcels open (in theory to check your contents) and the PTT will seal for you or if you want, take advantage of their free box and packing service.

Put Hediyelik on the form you fill in which needs your name and address as well as the name and address of who its going too.

here are a couple of examples of prices

4 kilos by ship 66.80TL - by plane 79.40TL - works out to £26.72/31.76 @ 2.5TL to £1

8 kilos by ship 98.40TL - by plane 120.20TL - works out to £39.36/48.08

10 kilos by ship 114.20TL - by plane 140.60TL - works out to £45.68/56.24
