Just back from Turkey and travelled with easy Jet. Great trips in and out with them but the hassle is always the stampede when the open boarding as there is no seat allocation. Since I have learnt to overcome my hearding instincts and not join the stampede I have enjoyed flying with them all the more.

But as we boarded the flight back we were told that there were plenty of empty seats at the back and so we walked down the plane. Sure enough there were empty seats including 2 next to each other - Bonus. I put my bag in the overhead locker and then noticed that a bag was on the seat next to the woman who was already seated (by the window). I asked her if the seat was taken - "yes i'm waiting for my friend" she replied. So we relocated and sat seperately but across the aisle from each other. The doors were closed and I suddenly realised that no "friend "had boarded the plane and 2 seats were still available. So I unbuckled and went back to her - I asked her if there was a "friend" yes of course there is she said. Well they have closed the doors and there is nobody walking down the aisle -my husband and I would like to sit next to each other so would you like me to put your bag in the over head locker? reluctanty she moved the bag to under the seat in front of her (but it was a very big bag which gave her limited foot space). How rude...she lied to enable her to have 3 seats to herself. Cow!

Later in the flight I looked over at her only to notice that she was asleep and that she had "fallen" out of her dress and was having a reaction to the airconditioning:D.

Needless to say I didn't wake her up for her to recover her dignity (Nick did take quite an interest from aisle seat in what could be seen from the window :-\)

Shame that polaroids are not so available.  You could have taken a picture and stuck it in her bag.

That's some people these days I'm afraid. No regard for others as long as they get what they want.

Not only that she was obviously thick if she thought you wouldn't notice her non existent friend.

Same happened to us in May. A couple had put their young daughter behind them on a row of 3 seats she was sitting in the aisle seat pretending to be asleep. Luckily there was enough seats for 3 of us to sit together. Like you we waited until everyone else had got on before boarding, as I refuse to stand for over an hour just to sit at the front. Believe it or not people where standing to get on before the plane had even landed at Dalaman. Madness.
