Istanbul Dogs, atrocities

I am sure Tinx will not mind me posting this in their section.  Read the link below, if you can stomach the pictures, and if you know any one in Istanbul let them have the story.  Truly horrific and shows what can happen if there are no caring people like Andy, Pauline, Terrie and Simon around.

These are some of most sickening pictures I have ever had the misfortune to see.  Not for faint hearted.  It would be far kinder just to shoot the dogs!!  They need to come down here and and take a leaf out of our Animal Shelter and learn how its done.  Cant believe that a wonderful city like Istanbul that is visited by millions can allow this to go on.:(

This has been going on for years and the Belgrade forest is known as a big burial and dumping ground for stray dogs. Sariyer council is infamous for this where they round up the dogs of the street and take them to the forest to be buried alive. We questioned the mayor about this and his stupid response was that people vote for him and not dogs so was not his concern. There are quite a few other blogs like this talking about the cruelty to animals but a big education shift is needed and a Turkish version of the RSPCA with prosecuting powers is needed badly.

Managed to watch the video, but cried my eyes out at same time, have sent it on to all turkish friends as well, surely there is something we can do to stop these atrocities
