This morning, for the first time in twelve months, I have been driving my car. A mere 11 months and 2 weeks after I had informed the DVLA they have now informed me that I have passed all the eye tests I attended, had positive GP and eye consultant reports, and have been authorized as "satisfying the medical conditions for safe driving". I wonder what they will do with all that intrusive information on my drinking and drug-taking habits that they demanded. Pedestrians of Bristol and the West Country beware - inexperienced driver on the loose! My trip this morning was not very exciting - just along through the rain to Lidl's to stock up with German lager at 75p a pint. But is is grand to be on the road again - and Hilary appreciated not having to drive me but stay home and listen to The Archers instead.
