Is the season over yet ? A domestic view
« on: April 26, 2011, 14:03:49 PM »
Just starting to recover from the Gooners defeat to Bolton on Sunday, when the Present Mrs Usedbustickets returns yesterday evening from Crystal Palace, where she is a season ticket holder, rejoicing at their victory over 'Dirty' Leeds.  Which looks enough to save them from the drop, for the second season in a row!  Bad form on her part even mentioning football to me, let alone being so chirpy about it, as I had already explained that the season was over:-\

Mind you we still have a game to play next sunday at the 'New Highbury' against some unmentionable northern team, and as I can't be at the game, I am in the second best place to view the game ... Turkey.  What a perfick day:D

Ah Stoop ... I wondered if I was going to get a bite on the Leeds name from the 60/70s.  I am as always on this issue of my perspective on football, and life in general, being framed by the experience of the  past.  So sir, I plead guilty as charged!

Chelsea are still in with a chance but it all hinges on Arsenal beating Manu, personally I dont think they can at the moment unless they throw caution to the wind and go on an all out attacking game but it wont happen, if man u win this one its over.

Two weeks ago I was saying the same about Chelsea beating ManU and how it would get Arsenal the title ;) ... still one thing I think you will see next Sunday is an Arsenal all out attacking game - as usual - leaving the flakey Arsenal defence exposed to the counter attack, as we suffered at Old Trafford (and other venues!!)[:(!]

4 games left and first to play second and first to play third makes it anything but over. If Chelsea beat them, that takes it to just 3 points. If Arsenal have beaten them and Chelsea won their game prior to playing Man U, it's all square. Now you have to assume that United will beat Blackpool at Old Trafford on the last day, so the title not going to Fergie will hang on whether Blackburn can beat United at Ewood, and Chelsea winning all four of their remaining games. Very simple really  :)
